New Prairie kids end up wrestling around 50 matches in a season and a few less matches wouldn’t be a bad thing…quality over quantity.

Just have to get the New Prairie coaching staff on board with that and then get them into the Al Smith. There were at least 3 teams at the Al Smith without a placer and I would think that one of them could not be invited next year to make way for New Prairie.

Not injured…it was 15-3 with a few seconds left in the 2nd and Graham got a reversal. All Graham’s other points were from Huyvaert cutting him. Does everyone forget that Huyvaert gave Solomey his only loss last year?

At the Traicoff today, 144 pounder Jeffrey Huyvaert of New Prairie majored Dillon Graham of Indianapolis Cathedral 17-6 and 150 pounder Jayden Lewis of New Prairie with the decision over Michael Ortega of Portage 8-2.

Thought someone mentioned to you to have Joey bump to 138 against New Prairie to wrestle Huyvaert for some competition, but that didn’t happen… -
Layne Horn is one of the biggest 106 pounders I have seen in quite awhile and I believe he will dominate his way thru the State series!

138: Jeffrey Huyvaert Freshman New Prairie 27-0 Has only had 2 offensive points scored on him all year! Mostly tech falls and pins against opponents He pinned a state placer (Uhlman) when up 15, he tech’d a state qualifier (Bohn) 23-8. Was sick and beat the 132 Al Smith Champ (DeMarco) 5-1.
