  1. I'm pretty sure they're still on dial up down there
  2. Thanks Matty. I admit, I might take things personal on occasion. lol I just scratch my head sometimes at how things are perceived. I have no issue with Brownsburg or anyone else, but yeah, I'm a MD fan. But I'm also realistic enough to know who's good and maybe who's not. I'd love to see MD win it all, but not holding my breath. Just looking forward to seeing the kids wrestle. In Mater Dei's case, I wish I could see more. But it seems Southern IN is behind the times (not just MD and wrestling) in terms or providing information and viewing opportunities. Also looking forward to seeing how the tourney goes this weekend for BB, CP, etc. Should be a lot of fun.
  3. Just curious what spin has come from me? Have I said anything inaccurate or derogatory toward BB?
  4. Which is awesome. Never did I say it wasn't. Brownsburg should be proud. They have a helluva team. Never meant to imply something different.
  5. The blanks in your example are why I said BB scares me in another thread before the season started. I don't think MD matches up well with BB. It will be interesting to see them battle if it happens. Regardless it will make for some fun Eville SS results and State Draws.
  6. You're right. I was simply saying that today doesn't change anything for me. BB is the favorite and was before today. And the reference which everyone seems to have gotten their collective panties in a bunch over, was the original post said they beat a team, as if it were a dual. I said they won a tournament with several good/excellent teams (plural). Not sure how that is a contradiction to Davison being a Nationally ranked team. Does the fact that Mater Dei won this tournament in 2018 take away from BB? I don't think so. It just provides reference that a great Indiana team competes very well at that tourney. And as to Sollars/Purdy, no I am in the dark as well. I really liked what I saw from Purdy last year and felt he was headed for a State Title. Figured him for 182 this year and when I saw he was at 195, I figured he'd have to wait a year. Which may still be true. But that's a big win! We'll see how it comes out. Can he do it again? And again? Might have to ha ha. I have a feeling we'll see some back and forth between those two. Looking forward to it!!
  7. I didn't imply anything. I stated fact. I was only providing reference that IN teams have had success there before. If BB had won before I would have notated that. They won this time, which is awesome. They had a great day. But that doesn't tell me anything that I didn't already know, in that they have a helluva team. As I mentioned in a thread weeks ago. Sorry if I hurt feelings. Never figured there would be so much sensitivity after a great day of wrestling.
  8. Did anything in my post contradict that? Nope
  9. You think wrong. The original post stated they wrestled a top ranked team. You wrestled in a tournament with many good/excellent teams, not in a dual. How does that contradict what I said? I'm not sure how I stated that before this tournament I felt like BB was the team to beat in the Eville SS indicates me trying to take something away from you? You won a great tournament. Be happy. But the fact that you won that, compared to Mater Dei wrestling today without much of their lineup doesn't tell us anything, which was the premise of this thread. So nothing changed. At least in my opinion. BB is still the favorite, was before. Not sure how that gets feathers ruffled. Sorry if I didn't participate in a rah rah thread in the manner you would have preferred. BB had a great day, enjoy it!
  10. Brownsburg is indeed stacked, but today's results don't tell us anything. BB didn't wrestle a top ranked team, they wrestled a tournament with several good/excellent teams from Michigan. The same tournament Mater Dei won in 2018. Brownsburg has finished 3rd, 3rd and now 1st there. That's not meant to take anything away from BB. I said earlier in another thread I felt they were the best team in the Eville SS. But MD hasn't wrestled their full lineup yet and is just coming off Football State. So while we can surmise that BB is likely better, this weekend didn't really tell us anything more than what we already knew.

  12. How do you think I know he lost? Just don't know anything about him. Thought since we were getting the bios and rankings of everyone else, It would be top of mind.
  13. Who did Logan Miller lose to in the 1st round?
  14. Somebody needs to go, notebook and pen in hand and get the proper results listed here!
  15. Has been tough for a few years. Mater Dei joined Brownsburg in 2018, finishing 1st and 3rd respectively. Brownsburg, just a half point behind Mason, OH for 2nd. Brownsburg finished 3rd again, behind Davison and Brighton, both out of Michigan. No tourney last year. Definitely tough and loaded with talent. Brownsburg won't surprise anyone, but should hold their own at or near the top. In 2018, Mater Dei utilitzed the ability to enter an extra wrestler and Brody Baumann hopped into the 113 bracket. Baumann made it to the final and forfeited to Cole Ross, so Mater Dei finished 1-2. One wrestler has to be designated as a non-scoring wrestler, I believe. Brownsburg brought 2 extra in 2019 so look for them to get some extra experience if possible.
  16. Thank you for the info. Will there be any streaming or following via Track Wrestling or anything for us not-so-local folks??
  17. It was in another thread in the past few days that he was going 126 and never intended on going 120. The rankings will catch on the next update. My guess is Hayhurst and May will go 145/152 or 152/160 depending on what MD needs. Maybe Turner at 160, if they can both make 145/152? No inside info, just speculation. Thought Turner looked good for a youngster last year.
  18. Nelson is wrestling @ 126 Ruhlman has wrestled 152 and 160 so far this year. More 160, I think.
  19. Matt Herman went 3-0 and was the Wildcat Wrestler of the Week, per Twitter. Scores were: Mater Dei 74 Ev. North 0 Mater Dei 51 Louisville Trinity 24 Mater Dei 54 North Posey 18 Have seen no other updates
  20. Some results from Sunday Dec. 5:Indiana Little State was this weekend featuring many of the small schools across the state. 21. A couple of other notes:Nick Lee won for Penn State Friday night beating #28 Carmen Ferrante 6-3. PSU had the flu run thru their team and did not wrestle Roman Bravo-Young, Aaron Brooks or Greg Kerkvliet. Reports said Nick looked extremely gassed in the 3rd period so it is likely he wasn't at full strength either. On 11/14 at the Jonathan Koulast Bearcat Open, Matt Lee at 165, beat 3rd ranked Julian Ramirez of Cornell 8-5. Ramirez beat National Champ Shane Griffith a week later in a dual meet. Ramirez lost to OSU's Carson Kharchla in the CKLV quarterfinal and is wrestling in the consis, assured of placing. Matt ultimately finished 2nd in that tournament, losing to a wrestler from Binghamton in the final
  22. The Cliff Keen Las Vegas invitational is this weekend with many top teams. Brayton Lee, Mason Parris and Gable Steveson are sitting this one out. Saturday update@141 Chad Red is in the semifinal and will face Andrew Alirez, the #2 seed from Northern Colorado.@197 Thomas Penola dropped his 2nd round match but has won 3 on the back side to guarantee 8th place. @285 Lucas Davison fell in the quarterfinal 5-3 to Yaraslau Slavikouski from Harvard. He won his blood round match and is guaranteed 8th place. Update with Placements@197 - Thomas Penola takes 3rd with a 6-5 upset over #9 and top-seeded Jake Woodley from Oklahoma.
