  1. Which seems to be more important winning high school state tourney or a premier national tourney? Indiana currently has 3 kids that have won premier national tourneys (Fargo and Super 32) that have not won a State Title. Brooks Super 32, Micic Fargo (as a first year Cadet) and Sliga Fargo (4 times Cadet).
  2. Meant to say this earlier.... Great screen name!!
  3. Mind blowing to think that at least 2 of these nationally ranked wrestlers won't win their state tournament.
  4. Am I missing something. LN was 2nd at team state last year and they have"Fallen" for a couple of months now. They have had great success in recent years, multiple state champs over the last four years, and have a returning state champ and favorite to win state again. This year they now have a wrestling friendly administration and another awesome coaching staff. Where's the problem? I'm sure there are about 100 wrestling programs in the state that would like "Fall" like LN.
  5. I hope those that get into wrestling are not doing it for the fame
  6. Not from the area, but wasn't LN the team state runners-up last year? What happened to their coach? Sorry if this has been covered prior to my discovering this site....
  7. Intermat also has Perry as the #23 team in the nation
  8. Agreed - I would not have guessed it, in fact, I almost said something about only having to do the research for the Merrillville and NC SS...
  9. As m-ville SS is loadedwithtalent @ 220, I got to wondering have top 4 at state ever been all from the same semistate?
  10. Sliga's biggest challenge comes from Berry provided he's healthy.
  11. From what I couldd see Harvey looked like he was getting stronger as each minute passed, and was close to scoring a couple of times in the end of regulation. he looked pretty impressive.
  12. It takes two. Masengal seemed happy to put it all on the line as well. He may have gotten more than he hoped for but hats off to him as well
  13. Sliga's got way more than just a high crotch
  14. Metcalf may not celebrate big victories, but he is more than capable of disrespecting his opponents on nationally broadcasted post match interviews and I think we all have seen how he reacts to someone else celebrating a big victory over him (...Caldwell). I don't think Brent Metcalf should be our moral compass... Personally, I like seeing emotion in our sport
  15. OK 170 and up may be too big even for Tsirtsis -- but 160 is not, especially considering how he handled 3rd ranked, previously unbeaten Stevenson from Merilllville I stand by Sliga could win all the way up to heavy
  16. I agree 100% -- That was a big match (#1 v #2), a ton of hype leading up to the dual and being the first match, I think it was completely understandable if not out right acceptable. Duals are team events and to celebrate taking a 6pt lead can help fire-up your team. Let's face it Cathedral needed every edge they could get going up against Perry.
  17. Cathedral did win all 3 of the battles of the undefeated.
  18. (sarcasm forewarning). Stevenson???? He lost to 145er
  19. Upset picks (based on SS rankings) Smiley, McClurg, Brian Harvey, Naughton I also predict an injury defalt at the tailgate, just not sure at which weight, but I am guessing Heavy
  20. "Sounds like your typical run of the mill loser" (good catch on Navin - I had to go back and correct it from Nathan on my earlier post) I'm glad some still appreciate the classics
  21. So where is the "Wade McClurg Tailgate" taking place?
  22. Will the tailgating also be on Broadcast.net for those of us that won't be able to make all the out to the Frozen Tundra of Indys south side?
  23. I forgot about Reese being a common opponent nice recall... Good to get the Johnson's straightened out anyway.
  24. I think there may be a mix up of Johnsons...I believe it was Montrail Johnson that beat Mullins Head to Head (and Kirk Johnson beat Montrail Johnson in the finals) still a valid point you make... To the best of my knoledge Navin R Johnson was not involved....
