Holden reacted to Hornet Coach in Who impressed you the most
Fattore impressed me the most and it had nothing to do with his wrestling. This young man carried himself like a champion after a questionable call. Nicely done young man!

Three guys stood above the rest for me. 2 are obvious.
B Lee and Parris had some great careers. Can't say enough about these studs. I'm excited to see what they can accomplish at the next level.
KRIS RUMPH - super impressive. They just don't make raw athletes like that very often. Kid impressed me every match he wrestled and was the most entertaining guy to watch in the tourney.

Columbus East...I knew about the Rooks kids but man 5 guys in the semi finals and finishing with 2 champs! I was impressed just don't get to see that team anywhere during the season.

Holden got a reaction from decbell1 in Individual championships
I am trying to put together the history of Southport Wrestling and get some names on the wrestling room walls. Can anyone tell me where I might find a record of individual sectional/regional/semi state/county/conference champions.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Holden reacted to Pudwrestler165 in New Castle Semi-State Preview
Surprised to see no Robert Clark on this list. Kids a stud. He took it to fuller 5-2 just after high school season ended. He dropped a match to hoots at New Castle last year due to missing a throw and going straight to his back (was down by a few pts). He could be anywhere #2-4 at 195. Should be interesting to watch.
Parris up to 220 with Woods should be good also.
No need for Blake to go 220.

Holden reacted to cdnobbe in ref medical authority
This discussion has been interesting to read, partly from my perspective as an English teacher. Many are saying to "error on the side of caution," and I would just like to say that they should "err on the side of caution."
Now with my teacher hat placed back on the hook, I will say that, as a coach, it is difficult to always resign yourself to the ref's opinion when you and your wrestler do all things right with a note. Granted that they must make the judgment as to the appearance at that moment and not three days prior; however, also being an official, I know there is no true and thorough instruction in diagnosing a skin condition in order to become licensed. While realizing that most officials have likely been around the sport enough years to know a lot of the skin diseases, it is still something that might make coaches more at ease with decisions knowing the official has been given some sort of training in the matter.
