  1. Haven't heard too much talk about this pretty big tournament in Vegas this weekend. According to the matrix there are 2158 kids and counting signed up for this. Do you know of any good Indiana kids going and at what weight? I know Nick Crume will be there at 128 and I've heard McCloskey is going, and I assume he would be 163 or MAYBE 155.
  2. I can't argue against that. He is good. We should be around the same weight so I hope I have the chance to wrestle him this year.
  3. Yeah, Matt's right. He graduated last year. On his first year of varsity he placed at the Al Smith and made it to semi-state, plus he beat a couple ranks guys. He was 170 until Tanner dropped down, then he went 182.
  4. That would be Dustin Chafin, but he graduated last year. I think you're referring to the end of his junior year at team regionals when he got a takedown on Devin Reagan in the last 30 seconds to get a 3-2 win. He got beat by Biberstine in the ticket round his senior year.
  5. I go to his school and we're friends. He'll be going 126.
  6. I second Elkhart Memorial students being overlooked this year. Flickinger, Blodgett, both Vaughns, Kendall, Moody-Neukom, Jenkins, and Johnson all had good seasons last year. Plus there are a couple new guys to step into the line-up like Chris Morris and Kaleb Summers. Keep an eye on Summers who was JV last year behind Bogle/Roberts. He's pretty good.
  7. His brother Dustin made it to the ticket round but fell victim to Biberstine's weekend of wrath. He has potential to bypass him.
  8. I second Kelley. He's really solid. And I would like to see Luke win, but it will be very hard to get passed Brandon James and Nick Crume(yes, Crume will be 126 again).
  9. He caught him. But he has a weird style. His balance is crazy and it takes a lot to take him down, and he is a lot stronger than he looks.
  10. Konner Chafin of Jimtown (113/120) pinned Jacob Brown first round over the summer. Was varisty last year until semi-state qualifier Cody Koebel took him out right at the end of the season. Look for him to make noise in the Fort Wayne semi-state.
  11. I care about rankings as much as the next guy... But we can wait a few more days. We already have a decent idea of who will be toward the top.
  12. Where would Knapp be? I think 106 would be a stretch for him and I can't see him and Lutter both jumping up two weight classes.
  13. Oh yeah, I just had that conversation with someone on my team last week. Derp. Either way, pretty impressive for someone who wasn't even varsity last year.
  14. A few special notes; 112 - Freshman Garrett Pepple places ahead of nearly 10 state qualifier... Wow. 130 - Crume places ahead of a 2x state champion. 145 - Kelley pins a D1 state runner-up
  15. 98 - 1-2 Trezdon O`Neal 105 - 0-2 Austen Laughlin 105 - 0-2 Kellen Jojo 112 - 2-2 Alan Mock 112 - 4th Garrett Pepple 119 - 3-2 Tony Vaughn 125 - 0-2 Jay Franko 125 - 1-2 Kameron Markovich 130 - 3-2 Nathan Carmichael 130 - 7th Tom Gettinger 130 - 3rd Nick Crume 135 - 3-2 Adam Garcia 140 - 8th Evan Loe 145 - 2-2 Derek Noon 145 - 3rd Brenden Kelly 160 - 0-2 Logan Wiegand 160 - 3-2 Cody Steele 160 - 3rd Mark Maldonado 171 - 0-2 Daulton Arvin 171 - 0-2 Logan Sarber 171 - 2nd Robert Stevenson
  16. Tristan Macri of Mishawaka. The past year he has beaten some of the best in the state, but had a nervous block at semi-state. He's pretty determined to do some major work this season.
  17. For those of you who don't know Mark Hall, he was a high school state champ in 7th and 8th grade. Currently, he is a freshman ranked #4 in the nation at 152. I managed to get a match with him this weekend. For your pleasure, here it is! Clearly he was going full throttle.
  18. I'd assume some of the top college recruits this year would be Molloy, Sliga, Bradley, Crume, Farrell, Massengale...
  19. Agreed about Manspeaker. Bad draw at semi-state or he probably could have placed last year. And it would be a shame if Conner didn't wrestle this year. After beating runner-up Farrell last season, he could go pretty far this year.
  20. Throw in Trevor Manspeaker, Kyle Jolas, Conner James, and Kenny Hughes. They could also make a run for the podium.
  21. With Farrell going 152 for the Super 32, I doubt he'll be at 145 this year.
  22. Single - more finishes to do from it and can create fun scrambles.
  23. I heard he's planning on doing the Ultimate Fighter.
