  1. Benton Central is pretty strong, too bad to see them go down on senior night, but good competition before the state tournament and possibly seeing those wrestlers at regional 2 1/2 weeks away isn't a bad thing. Who got wins for the panthers?
  2. I'm pretty sure Indianamat was made for wrestling fans to read blogs and post new threads to whatever their liking may be. It doesn't say that every thread must be about Penn or crown point or whoever. I believe anyone has the option to make a post about whatever topic they want there is no limit. Weather it's a big conference or a smaller conference, at the end of the day wrestling is still wrestling and it's a sport we all love. I've sacrificed blood sweat and tears in the MWC, I will remain loyal forever nonetheless. It may he on a different level than that wrestling of up north, but it's still wrestling. We don't have the numbers so of course were not going to have the same number of SSQ OR SQ. it's just how it goes, but the ones we do get, you can't take that away from the kids who have worked hard, went to camps and tried their personal best to make it there. That's not fair. I'm pretty sure Dorris and Hileman have a great shot at making it to conseco, possibly even wagoner as well. All three kids coming from 1a schools with tiny wrestling rooms with little support but they do it because they love it and get out of what they put in. Do NOT take that away from them. On another note, my vote for coach of the year goes to Jerry Holeman. He deserves it. That is all I have to say about that.
  3. Sounds like it's going to be a close one! Every guy seems to have the same chance!
  4. I would say it's up for grabs between Hileman & Dorris.. Holiday is a outstanding wrestler but it's def between those two. Hileman has had a great year & so has Dorris. If it goes by record then Hileman would receive it. I heard Dorris had a bad weekend at the Jeff invite, but wins a win and a loss is a loss. I wish they were the same weight, I remember back in middle school try wrestled a few times, Hileman winning all of them as he went a school record 35-0 all the way through middle school. I think whoever wins conference will get the award, weather it be NW or P. If I had to guess I'd say Hileman, his record is outstanding, & just offers so much for the team. Great kid, an amazing leader. Should be close, good luck to both wrestlers.
  5. You might find this interesting, a talented wrestler in California was prosecuted for it. Season over, ridiculous. http://www.sportsfilter.com/news/15871/wrestler-charged-sex-crime
  6. There will be some good teams there this weekend none the less, good luck to all wrestlers. Good day of wrestling is in store!
  7. So really was 5-1, thats impressive. Thought it was closer than that, hats off to wagoner.
  8. What was the score of the Moore and wagoner match? I know Moore bumped up from 35 to 40 to wrestle him, I believe wagoner won. Details of the match?
  9. I don't have my book with me so I don't know official scores, but North White is 10-2. Young team but solid in the middle. They should get some recognition. I saw in another thread that pioneer was ranked #10- North white beat them earlier this year, also carroll(flora) and triton were recieving votes. North White won both those duels by a large margin. Just an update, I will post scores later. Thanks!
  10. North White is 10-2 in 1a, with big margin wins over both Trition & Carrol(Flora). Also a win over over #10 1a Pioneer.
  11. With their JV in 10 freshman in the lineup ;D
  12. There were co-champs at 112 and 119 because Inman and Williams from north white were both 4-0 going into the twin lakes duel. Since Denton and the other kid didn't stay at one weight all day but since they beat the wrestlers they then take over as champs since Williams and Inman beat everyone else. I took it as that way. North White lost to North Newton but beat everyone else, Twin lakes beat everyone but lost to North White, North Newton beat north white but lost to renn and twin lakes Both teams who north white beat. Therefor North White would be the overall Champion coming down to criteria. There was some talk about adding up all the team score points and that would determine the winner but I don't think that it came down to that. It was a good day of wrestling, very competitive.
  13. Correction- NW-Wiley over Haskins(pin) Winkle 171 pin over Emrich TL 215 pin over McBurnett NW-HWT Begley over Ball(pin) It was an intense meet, def a good one to watch!
  14. I agree, Howe doesn't have anything to prove. I think he'll work him over. How 6-2
  15. Couldn't word t any better! I agree 100%
  16. The night before regionals will be tough, I was hoping to travel up with a few kids but living 3 hours away will be tough. It's a Shame, I was really looking forward to it. Too bad they couldn't move it to Sunday.
  17. You can go Far and do great things with just a good wrestling partner alone, good luck to both guys in their careers
  18. If not mistaken, this is wrestling not football. Although hats off go mcgee' what an accomplishment!
  19. Injuries in wrestling are very common, but I believe and go by this quote with my wrestlers, either you are hurt or you are injured. There is a difference. Wrestling is a tough sport, if you don't like it then you might as well play basketball. You fight through it, & do whatever it takes to win. Now if he/she is injured, then of course he/she won't participate until they are healthy. My point is that there is a difference between being hurt and injured and alot of people get those two mixed up. That is all.
  20. Saturday is right around the corner, Excited to see the turn out of these match ups.. The winner of course being the better wrestler obviously, we will just have to wait and see. It simply comes down to it, who wants it more, kill or be killed.
  21. The North White Six-Way should be a good test for all the participating schools. Alot of good wrestlers will face off, winner of course being the guy who has invested the most. Pioneer vs NW will be a close dual meet but I believe NW will come out on top in a very close match, bannon getting the decision over wagoner and c.hileman with the -upset- over Dorris. Again bannon will face a tough match against hardesty, I think it could go either way T.Hileman will hopefully be at 160 but he might be at 171 still, I think at first hileman could have a problem with winkle but hopefully coming away with the win. The six way is just a few weeks away, Looking forward to it along with the North White Twin Lakes Match up. Should be very interesting, could go either way. All about momentum.
