I'm not going to sign that petition either after reading it. It's bad enough that our sport has been removed from the 2020 Olympiad, I'm not going to ask thousands of other athletes to protest and lose their shot at glory.

Y2CJ41 It's not like Semi-state is about wrestling, it's all about the spectators duh. Come on people let it go. Merrillville Semi-State is awesome and I wouldn't have it any other way. People are so close to each other it's like there's wrestling on the mats and in the stands haha. Good luck to everyone this weekend!

Ya Tskin was messing with me when he didn't include Aaron Scott's 3rd place and replaced it with Tsirtsis. Also to be all state you need to place top 4 last I checked.

So 4 champs, 3 placers, 2 qualifiers That's pretty dang good. Right now Perry would have 3 champs, 5 placers and a qualifier They could beat Mater dei if James, Cottey or Bova claim the top spot.

Who is the best team ever in Indiana? I was thinking about this after looking at the rankings and seeing that Perry has a ridiculous team right now. I know they're just rankings but this could be one of the best teams of all time if they show up at the tournament. Which they have for the past few years no problem. Does anyone have that Lawrence North lineup and how they finished 2005? That team was STACKED. 112- #3 Cottey 126- #2 James 132- #1 LeCount 138- #4 Bova 152- #9 Cooper 160- #7 McClurg 170- #15 Warman 182- #1 Masengale HWT- #1 Winfield

Nick this is an opinion board not a fact board. You're fighting for your position and I for mine. Quite comical that a wrestler who's in college makes fun of that format for the high school state championships, when that is the format the NCAAs are determined by. I think you assume that a team with several champs will always take the team title. Look at Cornell last year 3 individual champs out of 10 weight classes and didn't win it.

That's an argument all in itself. If you have 4 state champion on one team out of 14 weight classes in the entire state you should be the team state champion. They weren't forfeiting the other weights. There were other kids there. I think they even had a state place winner other then the fab 4.

Well, It wouldn't have to be an extra day of school off. Friday, Saturday and Sunday just like Illinois does. Also reserving an extra day of Bankers would just mean more of a cost to us not IHSAA. I'm just trying to bring up some points that could progress our sport, not sound cute on a message board.

Well this is what we have been presented with and cannot go back to the Dual meet State Championships. So let's improve our current set up. Full Wrestlebacks should of been obvious when this was instated. Seeds are gonna happen so just forget about that. People have been trying to get seeds forever, just no logical. You should ask a coach that has been to a Mishawaka seeding meeting. 32 coaches getting after it for their kids haha.

I love that the state championships are now determined at one meet. It is similar to college where the best team takes the big prize. I do feel we're a step behind hwne it comes to wrestlebacks. If you lose first round you're out of the tourney hence getting the same point value as someone else. Also if you make the Semi's you're guaranteed 4th place. We've all seen State champs default at Semi-state, take 4th and then ruin a great wrestlers chance of being on the medal stand. I think full wrestlebacks would make State the true State Championships and making every match count that much more.

Wow I didn't know that he was redshirting and I assume Rutt is as well then. They will have a real tough team then next year.

I noticed that him and Travis Rutt are not located on Oklahoma's roster online. They're also missing from all the pre-season rankings. Does anyone have an update on this?
