Come get some live in at Southport!!! A program on the rise. Former Purdue Wrestlers Nick Skinner and Sean Schmaltz will be here rolling on the mats with you. We had about 30 kids last week. Plenty of talent in the room for everyone. We wrestle in three separate 20 minute spurts. A lot of like, and situational wrestling. Focusing on Freestyle and Greco right now. Enter door 9 of Southport High School. The wrestling room is at the bottom of the ramp on the left. Come get some work in! Thursdays through Greco State. 6:30 - 8pm

Southport will be hosting an open live wrestling room every Thursday over the summer. 5:30 to 7pm. Enter door 9. Wrestling room is at the bottom of the ramp. Middle school and High School welcome. First one will be May 31st. No wrestling on July 5th. Last will be July 26th. Hope to see you there.

Southport would be interested in hosting in the future. Get in contact with me if you are looking for a large Indianapolis site. Can put 6 mats down in one gym with enough space for all spectators and wrestlers to be in the stands. Ask anyone that was at Fresh/Soph. State last year. It turned out really well. Huge thanks to Mark Durham and Southport Administration!

How old does a kid have to be before they can take the test? I have some high school kids that want to do it. Told them I didn't know if there was an age requirement.

Something came up. Wife and I cannot go this weekend. I know it is last minute, but if anyone is looking for 2 tickets to the Championships I have 2 for sale. Paid $100 for both all session passes. Trying to get that back, but obviously would be willing to take a little less if someone has to drive to me to get them. I live in Columbus, IN. Willing to meet within 30 minutes for full price. I need a good loud interval timer for my wrestling room. I have one, but it is difficult to hear when the music is on. If you have any suggestions let me know!

I am trying to persuade administration to provide an additional stipend for wrestling so I can at least attempt to keep quality coaches. We currently receive one Head coach stipend and one assistant coach stipend. Head ~$5000 Assistant ~$2500 If you could please reply if you know what your school offers your coaches. It would be helpful to know the school as well. If you are not comfortable putting your information on a public forum please feel free to email information to skinnera@bcsc.k12.in.us. Please put coaching stipend in the title. Many are stating my pay is good enough. Let me ask you this then. Is your pay the same as other sports that only coach 10 to 15 kids? We have the same numbers as a soccer, baseball, and softball. They are given 3 stipends. In my corporation we are classified with golf and tennis. I find it hard to believe that only 2 stipends is status quo for a 6A school.
