blueandgold
The IHSAA changed the scholastic style from Folkstyle to Freestyle? Would we see a lot of the same kids dominate or would we see some different guys at the top of the podium than usual? Think of all the points not scored for throws that go out of bounds, appreciation points for lifts, points for exposure. It would certainly change the landscape of some matches and some wrestlers’ strategies, especially those who are primarily mat wrestlers. The first person I could think of who could possibly be a four-time state champion if high school was freestyle would be Lane Gilbert. This has been a discussion the nation over for many years now on if the United States and adopt freestyle as its main style on the collegiate and scholastic levels. What do you guys think? indypharmd
definitely would change quite a few athletes' styles of wrestling at the edge of the circle if there would be a chance of them losing a point each time...
