Coach Kerrn Posted February 20, 2014 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Jimtown High School will host a Regional Training Center starting next Tuesday at 5:30. We will continue to run every Tuesday through the end of the school year. We start practice with an active warm and drill, and then cover some technique, and then wrestle a ton of live. We are hoping to pack the room with wrestlers looking to improve for next year. The last couple of years we have had numerous wrestlers from throughout Northern Indiana and Lower Michigan who were/are state qualifiers/placers as well semi-state placers/qualifiers. We also have many who are training to take the next step to be state qualifiers/placers/champions. We have also had the privilege of having numerous area coaches at practice to workout with the wrestlers. Last week we had a great room with state qualifiers, semi state qualifiers, and a bunch of guys trying to get better. We will start with a light warm up and drill, do some technique and then lots of live. Practice starts at 5:30. Please use the door next to the wrestling room to enter. The room has been filled with wrestlers of all sizes and skill level. We also had 7 coaches in the room rolling with the wrestlers. Looking for another great turnout this week. We will resume our regular schedule (Tuesdays at 5:30) next week! The room has had wrestlers of all sizes and skill level. Steve is the owner of Rockstar Gym and will talk about nutrition and show some technique. We will then wrestle live for the rest of practice. Numbers are increasing every week with wrestlers looking to improve for next year. There are also 7-10 coaches in the room willing to work with kids trying to take it to the next level!!! Coach Kerrn Posted March 26, 2014 Author Share Posted March 26, 2014 Former state champ Steve Stahl gave an excellent talk last nigh about the importance of proper nutrition and hydration and led the wrestlers through an awesome warm up and drill. The room was rocking with Jr. High and High School wrestlers from Penn, Mishawaka, Elkhart Memorial, Elkhart Central, Northwood, Jimtown, South Bend and even a couple of studs down from Michigan! We also had 8 coaches in the room wrestling and coaching the wrestlers. We will be getting after again next week on Tuesday at 5:30--come join the fun!! We added studs from Rochester, Marian, Plymouth, and Warsaw to the great group we had last week! We had 60+ wrestlers, 13 different schools represented, and 16 coaches all getting after it! There were great battles and scrambles going on everywhere in the room. Great battles and scrambles going on everywhere in the room. Wrestlers were also getting some great one on one instruction from the numerous coaches at practice. With the forecast calling for showers and thunderstorms tomorrow all day and evening, it would be a great opportunity for spring athlete wrestlers to get a workout in tomorrow. The room has been packed with wrestlers from many North Central Indiana schools as well as lower Michigan. State Champ Nick Crume will take the wrestlers through a light warm up and drill and then do some instruction! We wrestle lots of live after the technique session. The room has been packed the last couple of weeks with wrestlers from all over Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. The room has been loaded with studs working toward their goals for next year. If you have a goal of being a state qualifier, placer, or champion you need to put time in during the off season. Tomorrow night is a great opportunity to improve your skills and get some great live wrestling in. We had 25 dedicated wrestlers in the room last night who understand that this is the time of year that will give you the edge over everyone else next year. We still have a great group of coaches in the room working one on one with the kids. Great battles and scrambles going on throughout the room. We will be back at it next Tuesday. Come join the fun.
