ANDREW HOWE!!!  Wow kid just doesn't quit!  Does anyone know how they base the winner of a period that ends in a 1-1 tie?  I assume its who is deemed the aggressor/active which Howe will never lose a period based on that haha.

Hasseman would see Sanderson in the semi-finals of the challenge tournament tomorrow. Cejudo apparenty didn't sign up so that's one less obstical for Escobedo to fight through.

Howe lost two straight matches to Burroughs in the finals to become the first alternate for the World Team.

Huphrey beat Bunch in two out of three matches to win the World Team Trials.  That two huge back to back wins over a tough Shawn Bunch.  However, it was said that since Bunch did win the Medved (one of the top international tournaments) the  coaches have not made their final decision as to if Humphrey will be the representative. Here is part of www.themat.com explanation for this.

"Humphrey won the World Team Trials, but the World Team member is not yet determined in this weight class. Humphrey and Bunch will be entered in an international tournament later this year. In order for Bunch to make the team, he will have to medal at the event and place higher in the standings than Humphrey.

Bunch qualifies for this under new criteria which recognizes international performances. Bunch won the Medved International in Belarus to meet this criteria."

Depending on how this turns our Reece may or may not make the team. I would hope if the results are close yet Bunch edges h out in The event that the coaches would take Reece's two wins into consideration and give him another chance through a challenge match or additional competition.  Beating Bunch outright on two occasions in a row should count for something that one international tournament  draw by itself shouldn't completely nullify.

Escobedo and Hasseman both lost during the challenge part of the event.

On a side note Sanderson has been impressive on his way through the challenge portion. He will face Herbert in the final match tonight to determine who wins the World Team Trials.

For those interested Sanderson won the World Team Trial in impressive fashion. Using a lot of hip control and counters to beat Herbert two matches in a row. I believe he only conseeded two points in the finals.  Seems as though he may be able to make a de net run if e can keep getting closer to his old form.
