I do know 1- Perry Meridian 2- Doe Creek 3- Mater Dei 4- Center Grove 5- Ritz 6- Avon 7- Bloomington 8- Batchelor Doe Creek results - round 1 - Doe Creek 57 Mater Dei 50 round 2- Doe Creek 91 Avon 21 round 3 - Doe Creek 99 Batchelor 13 round 4- Doe Creek 43 Perry Meridian 51 It was a great tournament with a lot of talented wrestlers. pm1981 Posted January 26, 2009 Share Posted January 26, 2009 Nice job of running the tournament by coach Deckard and his staff. Perry Meridian was 3-0 in their pool. The first match was against Center Grove. The score was 80-22. They have a full team and the match was closer than the score indicates. They have good athletes and this team will get better each time they wrestle. They beat us at 85 lbs with Lucas Hays tough kid. 115 Lo9gan Hutson beat us and their two big guys are studs. James Anderson and Drew Ponder 215 and Heavy. The next match was against Evansville Reitz. The score was 67-29. They gave up 4 forfeits or 24 points so you can see this match was close. They have some talented wrestlers. Ferguson at 70, Reece at 95, Johns at 100, Dierks at 115, Santiago at 130, Schnarr at 140, and Heed at 145. They were very strong in the lower and middle weights. The final match in our pool was against Jackson Creek. The score was 114-9. They were a very young team and gave up four forfeits. They beat us at 120 ( Vandiver) and Prieboy beat us at 165. Doe Creek won the other pool by defeating Mater Dei 57-50. I believe it is the first time they have not made it to the finals. Doe Creek is loaded from top to bottom. They are well coached and technically sound. They were physical and wrestled hard the entire match. There were 21 weight classes and the match tally was 11-10 for Perry. It was very exciting all the way through and we will wrestle them again later in the season. It should be a barn burner. We won at 70,75,80. Cash beat us at 85( stud),We beat them at 90 and 95, Harvey beat us at 100, we won at 105, they beat us at 110,115,120,125,and 130.( Murder's Row) Wagner, Lawson, Elsea, Jennings, and Ulrey. I think you will recognize a few of those names. We stopped the bleeding at 135, but lost at 140 and 145 to another Wagner and Taylor. The match score was 30-40 Doe Creek at this point. 10 Points down Jake Masengale got a fall at 155, Keanu Cooper won at 165 , Cody Smith and Wes Bernard picked up falls at 165 and 180. We lost 1-0 at Heavy Wt. Final score PM 51- Doe Creek 43. Great match. Undefeated wreslters for Perry were:Jacob Cottey, Tyler and Kyler Fleener( what a nice combo), Aidan Kenny, Josh Murphy, Matt Kelly, Jake Masengale, and Cody Smith.
