Top-ranked Iowa's wrestling team and Griffith's Alex Tsirtsis have something in common. They're both unbeaten in dual competition.

The Hawkeyes extended their dual winning streak to 29 straight by winning at Oklahoma State for the first time since 1996. Tsirtsis contributed to the 19-14 victory by beating 141-pounder Jamal Parks, 4-1.

His 85th career win helped Iowa avenge its only loss last year. Going into the conference season the Hawkeyes are 15-0.

n Indiana University is proceeding carefully with Griffith's Angel Escobedo. The defending 125-pound national champion has been wrestling with a brace on his left shoulder (torn labrum). He suffered the injury two years ago, but is delaying surgery.

The redshirt junior has been rested in several meets, but extended his winning streak to 19 straight before losing to Iowa State's Tyler Clark. Ideally, he'd like to move up to 133 pounds, but his cousin Andrae Hernandez, a senior, is competing in that spot.

"He has always been my workout partner," said Escobedo, who weighs as much as 150 during the off-season. "Maybe after he graduates."
