Jeffersonville, with four top seeds, is favored on paper to win the Hoosier Hills Conference title when the Red Devils host the conference matches tomorrow.

 

Jeff's top seeds are Alonzo Shepherd (30-7) at 103 pounds, Alex Bailey (27-8) at 152, Tyler Tatgenhorst (31-5) at 189, and Jon Clark (18-1) at heavyweight.

 

Floyd Central, which beat Jeff in the HHC Duals this season, has three top seeds: Garret Blackman (19-4 at 135), Ben Moberly (26-7 at 145) and John McAndrew (23-4 at 171).

 

New Albany has two No. 1 seeds: Tim Martin (23-3 at 119) and Jonathon Gary (17-7 at 125).

 

Castle won the 25th annual Old Capital Classic last week at Corydon, scoring 431 team points. Floyd Central was fourth with 257.

 

Jeffersonville went 2-3 in the Franklin Invitational. Brett Walker (130 pounds) and Caleb Browner (171) were undefeated during the tournament.

 

Providence's Ethan Cook is ranked seventh at 189 pounds in the latest Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association poll. Clark is No. 3 at heavyweight.

 

Other ranked wrestlers include Charlestown's Jeff Stotridge (13th at 119) and Eddie Duran (13th at 125), and McAndrew (11th at 171).
