Yea, I'm serious.... I see nothing wrong with a ff in that situation. I figured no one would. Now how about this (and if you think this is different, tell me how).... Same situation, up 7 team points, last match at team state. You send your last kid out to wrestle and he is up in the 3rd period. What if you inj def then? What if it's a heated match and you're afraid of your kid costing team points for whatever reason? Why take the risk and continue the match? Is that an unethical decision?

How about this- Team state, final match. After the 13th match, your team is up by 7 team score. Is it unethical to ff the last match and take the state title?

My response was to NCWrestlefan I should have quoted it. I got too busy watching LOST.... .which gets increasingly more confusing each second btw... and didn't get the post written in a timely manner.

Why is it hard to believe that there is another view point here? You can continue to be baffled, because I don't find fault with the decision. I'm sure many other coaches would have done the same thing. Do you think the inj def for 4th was unethical? Do you think the lack of proper seeding was unethical? The coach did what he (and the wrestler) believed gave them the best opportunity to advance in the tournament. I wouldn't say i'm an unethical person.... unless you think that hgh injections for a 2 year old to give him an advantage in sports is unethical... in that case, no comment.

I'm with Razo... probably not the first time this was done. How is inj defaulting for 4th different than inj defaulting for 2nd? I'm guessing the inj def in the 3/4th place match was to get in the opposite bracket from the same sectional champ. How is providing the best possible opportunity for your wrestler, within the rules, an unethical coaching move? If there is anything unethical, it's the decision made at the seed meeting a week ago. If the seeds are done right, then the best kids are in the 1st/2nd place match instead of one of the best in the 3rd/4th match.

After watching today, I'm convinced that Holt wins by 3-5 points over Wathan and Richey pins/techs them both.... probably at the same time.

We've already wrestled several teams on that list.... I would feel pretty comfortable ranking Jeffersonville up near Yorktown as a team.
