  1. Just checked the updated brackets, and take it the Zionsville Regional did not go off at it's re-scheduled time.
  2. Wicked funny. First of all..I didn't call it a lock, someone else did. I merely asked you a question. You obviously had no worthy answer, and are too proud to type "I am a CE homer." So you had to attack my transposition of 2 vowels ( technically, since it is probably Germanic in origin--that surname was likely Reiker, before being westernized to Rieker). I can't believe you had the nerve to point that out after your spelling of "definitely." Also, by your reasoning on the time factor, any wrestler that was handled easily by another wrestler 2 1/2 months ago...would be favored against that same opponent today. Good luck to you and your opinion. Btw..I never voiced an opinion on the match.
  3. What kind of New Age formula are you using to come up with Reiker being the favorite over Catron? Catron beat him 8-2, is a state-placer and only has one loss this year. Don't reply with "he's ranked higher." That is just one guy's opinion, or his treatment of a tangled web of results (including, as in this case, oversights). 8-2 is what happened on the mat.
  4. Tguns....love the '70s R&B, Funk....try this one: Get the funk out ma face---The Brothers Johnson
  5. You whippersnappers quit listening to monotonous, plagiarized, rap and try this Uncle Ted classic on for size....it will get you up for some serious crack-a-lackin' Stranglehold!
  6. Maligned, I don't think it is so much about confusion. The viewers probably realized I had already posted the perfect predictions and thought, "why bother?" ;D
  7. Champs: Yorktown, Penn, Roncalli, Lawrence North, Delphi Runners-up: HSE, Castle, New Castle, Franklin, Munster
  8. 1. Culver 2. Danville 3. Connersville 4. Fairfield 5. Eastern (Oak Hill Sectional)
  9. To fully incorporate the power of the genius ratings (and to what degree a player overcame them)....why not institute a reverse multiplier to calculate scores? For example: On someone's #1 pick, if they are correct, multiply by 5 the number of points the champions were underdogs according to the Genius. On a #2 confidence pick, multiply by 4, the points that the winning team was "supposed" to lose by. That would reward the handicappers that really outwit the rankings, rather than just choosing the mildest (and therefore, most likely to win) underdogs.
  10. Philo...that was brilliant. Definite wahoo.
  11. You win... Wahoo's for you everytime I sign on.... That's hilarious Ya know I keeps me a private jet!
  12. I just spoke with someone in the State Rep's (who put forth the bill which would dismantle the IHSAA) office, and she said his main reason for doing it was that the IHSAA was planning to implement the requirement for a big "grappler group hug" and a giant "crowd group hug" in addition to requiring EVERYBODY in attendance to shake EVERYONE else's hands at all wrestling events. And he just couldn't stand for that.
  13. props to Insanoflex and bluebolt for coming up with a couple I wish I had. funny stuff....biya*****
  14. I didn't say I was expecting Iowa to be on his doorstep, geez. Kids do mature at different ages and being undefeated this year, made me think that a D3 school might have a use for him. Good advice on contacting the schools you are interested in! I have seen parents work that program first-hand and earn their child a first-rate education.
  15. One of the boards had a link to a nice article about Matt Todd being undefeated heading into the State Finals. I couldn't believe what I read when it said it could be his last match ever. That was in reference to him having no offers to wrestle in college as yet. Unbelievable.
  16. Everywhere we go, people want to know who we are, so we tell them....
  17. Kieffer lost 17-10 to freshman Connor Mullins of New Castle, and later avenged that loss 5-4, and 3-0
  18. and btw, "you can't fix stupid". Nice one, Tater Salad!
  19. I like green eggs and ham. Sam, I am.
  20. How does that rule work with this: "5-25-6c NEW; 7-6-6c NEW: Referees now have rules support for a stalling call against a wrestler who repeatedly creates a stalemate situation to simply prevent his/her opponent from scoring and not from his/her own attempt to score." http://www.nfhs.org/web/2008/09/200809_nfhs_wrestling_rules_cha.aspx If Eppert had the legs in before Wright stood up, Wright was the one repeatedly creating the stalemate situation. AWWWWWW SNNNNNNAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPP!!!!
  21. So you had to go and get yourself a sock puppet to make that post? Afraid of revealing how little you know under your usual moniker? I had this discussion with an official less than a month ago, and he said if the bottom attempts to stand while legs are in, he is stalling. Like I said earlier, we need to pose this question in "Ask the officials" and see what they say as a group.
  22. Well you can call me Ray or you can call me Jay or you can call me Ray Jay...but you doesn't haven't to call me Johnson.
  23. I cant believe what I have been reading about people wanting Wright to be hit for stalling. It is the bottom wrestler's duty to work for an escape or a reversal. It is the top wrestler's responsibility to work towards a pin/nearfall. Stading up is a way to escape and therefore there is no way Wright should have cautioned or given a stalling call. Then you need to take a look at a Rules book. Go to the "Ask the officials" forum and ask them. Standing up when someone has the legs in is a way to keep from getting turned, and therefore stalling. As one poster mentioned, there are better ways to counter legs than standing up.
