  1. Runner-up might be up for grabs. Ayersman is solid.
  2. How many of those had a successful career beyond being a 4X state champ?
  3. I believe this all started with this statement and coach snyder gave clarification to why they might look out of shape. He is defending is wrestlers and his program. I do not fault him for that.
  4. My question is was it the trainers or his coaches that told him not to continue? I watched the same trainers at the mat where a wrestler fainted and fell to the mat and he continued the match because he wanted to. I would think that if a person fainted and fell to the mat he would not be allowed to continue, because obviously there is something wrong that caused him to just drop to the mat. Also, if the move was illegal why was it not stopped. Vlahos was allowed to do the move while the ref watched and it was not stopped until Willis screamed. So if it was illegal the ref should have blown the whistle well before the injury. That is what the ref is there for.
  5. I believe there is an undefeated wrestler that is going to the state finals tonight that lost 10 pounds and according to the rules I would guess that would be a violation.
  6. What is wrong with the coach stepping up and taking the blame for his student/wrestler. The chesterton coach isvery dedicated to wrestling and I am sure that he had the best of intentions when interpreting the rule. I am sure that he is not the only coach that interpreted the rule the same way. Was there an alterative motive behind turning him in. Would the coach be turned in if the wrestler was not one of the better wrestlers in his weight class?
  7. I believe that the prior statement was speaking to the fact that Cashe ran off the mat against Tsirtsis.
  8. most of the bad calls were in there favor. They were all over the refs especially against Merriville and it continued when they wrestled Portage. Not taking anything away from the team. I know that working the refs is part of what the coaches are supposed to do. Just in a more professional way.
  9. Ed, Tharp and Maldonado all work(ed) the refs with class and not whining. As for the pin in the Roach-Santos match it may have been a pin but the ref waited and it should not have been called after about 10-15 seconds ran off the clock and the period ended.
