  1. OK! Is there a place on this web site that has a start time for the meet at Jasper this weekend?
  2. I saw where MD and Castle were in a meet with BS, is the time established?
  3. Fly, always adding good context to the site. Thanks fearless for your deep thought to my comment. Now I have come on here and give another deep comment(SEASON)
  4. that wrestler from Columbus North is Jarrett Brownfield. Remember it. You'll see him at the last get together of the year.
  5. There were several good match ups, I got to see a real good dual team in Bloomington South. LC, Mart. Center Gr. Col. No., all have some very good wrestlers that will be contenders at the end of the year.
  6. South has a little firepower there and you throw in Eads at 189.
  7. I guess Kurt Kinser's knee is still a problem,he is not bracketed.
  8. Can anyone tell me the teams invited this year? Never been , worth the trip?
  9. Where that comes from is a good percentage of teams in the state cannot fully field a team. Except the select good tradition programs. You have seen it, coach puts a 189#er in at the heavy slot or 145#er goes at 71#, this goes on all the time, instead of forfeiting. Or you just for fit to avoid the pin. Or you are small in numbers totally and have to forfeit 1 or 2 weights.
  10. That is my point exactly, 35 to 40 % of the schools cant even field a full team. So by these standards half or so are already eliminated before they start. Wouldn't it be nice to see a school that hasn't won ever, be crowned team champ with 2 or 3 great wrestlers. Don't you think it would bring some excitement to the school and team. Also let others in the state see that it my happen to them.
  11. We have to go with the fact IHSAA is not going team CLASS. So I think the second best way to determine the state team champion is going back to the old way. This gives the smaller schools or medium size schools at least a ray of hope.
  12. Yea. I guess keep things as they are ,Team state is for the top 15% of the schools. It's not for The Deltas, the New Havens , The Chesterton's, the Jennings county schools they need to stay in the background Because they only have a few great boys and not a full team. And have no real chance at a placement in the team championship .
  13. I think we agree on all points here . My ray of light I was talking about is ' the once in twenty years" for this system we have now. The ray of light in the old setup would be "once in 4-6 years". You could have 2 or 3 great wrestlers surrounded by a lot of middle of the road wrestlers and still maybe place in the old system. Now You need VERY GOOD wrestlers to surround the 2-3 GREAT boys to get into the finals. Not to many schools that are average size can even field full teams. Let alone have "very good" at each weight.
  14. Since we know class team is not in the IHSAA's near future plans. This is really for discussion. After experiencing both old and new systems of determining team state champions, I think it needs to be readdressed. I personally, as a spectator along with15% of Indiana teams, like the excitement of teams vying for the championship in this now tournament. But do coaches and wrestlers of 85% of the schools in Indiana see it the same way? Chances of s small school winning the team state in the old tournament is at least a ray of light in the horizon.
  15. Good win and a reminder how good of a duel team the Boilers are. Least we mention the #1 184 wrestler didn't wrestle in this match.
  16. Glad to hear the position is set at 157 at this time. A little pressure at any position is good. It will be a big cut for Matt I know but him in the lineup only adds to the team in dual matches. The line up is looking solid.
  17. I hope not to beat a dead horse here, but it seems to me that Kirt and Matt are going to wrestle 157 or sit for the year. This is a shame for ether man. Anyone know any more on this situation? I hope they don't burn them selves out early in the year continually fighting for the same team spot.
  18. Any word here on Mena stepping down from the asst. coaching job at I.U. This is a real set back for the University. Gold man needs to follow suit. But Wrestling is the least of Indiana's problems in athletics.
  19. I've eaten plenty of quail, a little pheasant, even goose and wild turkey. Does any one have a side dish that goes good with CROW? Hoosierdaddy doesn't need to make any smart a** remarks here. I just want something sweet to choke this down.
  20. I also think its a nice cap to the season. To have your best, step up to the plate and represent Indiana is what makes this dual. To have it in the central part of the state ,to allow minimal drive time,is icing on the cake! Kudo's to the driver of this bus.
  21. Did he wrestle today?
  22. Hey Soxfan, Trying to get Hoosierdad to say the same thing, but you know how the old guys are. :
  23. Yea looks that way.The only difference is the qualifying seeds from this to last year, the number would be the same (8) total. Under the old system.
  24. I don't think the Fart Wayne schools, are having any problems with their open program. Let the kids and guardians decide.
  25. HOOSIER, Do you have the info for 2007 vs 2009,just for additional ammo?
