  4. good point. I can always make a change or modification to keep on first page.
  5. Can one of the moderators pin a "Semi-state results" thread to the first page. I'll put all the results there. Rod
  6. I can't make it and will be at home. If anyone has texting for free, they can text me results and I will post them. Make sure to identify which SS your are posting results for. Send SS - weight- results to: 812-325-4687
  7. If you are going to Semi-State (any) and have free texting. Send me; Semi-State ID - EV MV etc. weight results I will take all I can get and post to the board. Upsets in early rounds and Semis and Finals a must. send to:\ 812-325-4687 I will try to the thread posted to the top of the board for easy access.
  8. Bloomington South has had multiple Individual State Champions 33 times. I'm guessing that is the record! Slightly off-post but a cool fact!
  9. John was a State Champ in 1971 (145lbs) and his regular season record was 16 - 18.
  10. I equate Confidence to Mental Toughness. It's not all encompassing but it is not possible to be mentally tough without it. I also agree totally that wrestling is a mental sport (impossible to explain to a HS Soph) and the man who thinks he can win....usually does!
  11. So off season work with RTC's, National tourney's and such are right up there in your mind?
  12. I did not wrestle in HS (now I wish I did). My son is a Sophomore and loves this sport. I support him because he is my son and to be honest wrestling has really grown on me and I believe it will help to make good men. Now for those of you that have been around wrestling for years, what ingredients make the perfect wrestler. Use the ingredients below and add your own as necessary. Please list in order of importance (1 most important....) describe why one attribute is more important than another. Speed Strength Technique Heart Controlled Aggression/ mental toughness Family support Strong Coach other.........
  13. Shawn Miracle is from Bloomington North...\ I'll take Boomsma at 103....
  14. I assume you were there? I guess you are entitled to your opinion, as are we all.
  15. The Richey's are great assets to the sport of wrestling. Don't know many kids that have raw technique and that study wrestling as much as they do. Quincy learned from his experience on Saturday and so did his coach. The kid got robbed. What do you mean "The Kid got robbed"? I was there and can't allow you to take a great win from Barlow with a comment like that!
  16. My daughter says she can post on "you tube" and I can link from here. Will follow-up asap.
  17. I take no offense, Barlow is one of my sons best friends. I was beside the mat and had a good view and still gave Richey the benefit of the doubt. He and his brother came to BS to workout during the Freestyle season. Seemed like a good kid. He made a mistake on the mat (mistake is a very kind way to put it). But his actions on the podium made him out as classless! I will get the video posted if shown how!
  18. Need instruction on video posting?! Camera operator had zoomed in,... in anticipation of the fall. There will be no question if you see the video! Did you see Richey on the award podium?
  19. Not only saw it but have it on DVD. 1. Cradle was no where near broken! 2. Richey felt forward to find Barlow forehead, slid his hand up (Barlow was forehead down) found the eye socket and drove with rotation to his eye. 3. This was the third eye gouge by Richey, thought the first two inadvertent till I saw the third. 4. Guarantee that if BC Coach (1st rate and quality coach) see the tape Richey will have a tough week. He was 180 degrees out and could not have seen it. I know if he had no way he would have argued at all. Richey got an escape point, instead of loosing by fall for a cheap and dirty move. 5. For those who defend Richey, what do you think of his actions at the awards ceremony. Don't think he is a dirty wrestler......just not used to loosing. To win at any cost is too lose the big match.
  20. Exactly, with 4 mats and only four wretler left (after 1st round), you take a huge risk of an uncoached wrestler, and that is unaccecptable. I expect this is the norm!
  21. NEW POST STARTED ABOVE WITH ALL RESULTS
