If he wants to prove that he is one of the best in the history of the State , he will have to move up in weight class . Maybe 112 next year and 119 his Senior year . I think he would succeed at either one of those classes .

Can Mish. do in 2011 like Crown Point did this year , by winning a State Championship and be competitive the following year ?

I heard at Semi State that Crown Points 103 may not even wrestle because of grade problems , any truth to that ? -

We lost State last year because one of our top wrestlers decided to break some team rules , it didn't just hurt him it affected the whole team , these kids are old enough to be thinking of what the outcome can bring . Stop making excuses for them !

Come on now , academics and school discipline is a major part of wrestling , if it wasn't Brooks wouldn't have had to miss his first couple of meets . You don't think that affected his team at all .

I know Brooks is a great wrestler and is a real hard worker , but his academics are questionable , if he wants to go to the next level he needs to get his act together . If he thinks that wrestling is the only thing to get him into a good college he is sadly mistaken . When colleges were recruiting my oldest son they really were checking more into his GPA than his ERA .

Isn't he going to Crown Point this year , thats where he was telling everyone he was going ? Even some of the wrestlers from Crown Town said they were told from Brooks it was a done deal .

Are you saying that Crown Point is recruiting their wrestlers illegally ?

With C.P. taking seven to State , and having six of them place , three State Champs and being one of the top favoites to win Team State , maybe that not shaking hands aint a bad idea , maybe other teams should try it .

On Team State do most teams take an alternate for each weight class , and last year did the alternates from Mish. receive the same awards as the starters ?

I hate to say it but I predict C.P. will Know doubt win State this year . If you go by their matchup from the Traicoff , Wisler pins Halsted which was an upset , now instead of C.P. losing 6 they WILL at least take 3 . Hawkins who took on Beck , instead of just winning by 3 will pin Wisler gaining 3 . Mish. won by 11 at the Traicoff , by losing Beck C.P. picks up 12 .

I was at a tournament Friday night and overheard discussion of IHSAA changing some weight classes for 2010 , is there any truth to that ?
