Miller News, You are correct. Coach Gastineau (HSE) and I were talking about this idea last off season. I met with our athletic director and proposed our idea to him, who later proposed it to the county AD's and it was set into motion. This coming year to my knowledge it will be hosted by Hamilton Heights, the following year at Westfield, after that I am no sure who will host. RAGU- New Castle 7-0 Westfield 6-1 Great dual meet again with the Trojans. Both teams competed extremely hard, with tremendous sportsmanship and New Castle came out on top, congratulations on your victory. **Special thank you to the gentleman who came out on to the mat when our 145 lb. wrestler was unconscious to assist him. This man was a New Castle Fan/Parent who came out of the stands to help one of our wrestlers and his assistance was beyond what is typically thought of at high school athletic events and our coaching staff, team, and parents, sincerely thank you. Coach Peck if you could pass along our gratitude to this man, it would be greatly appreciated. Our wrestler is ok and looking forward to competing again soon. 6minutes..... A few years back James "Jimmy" Nichols of Westfield was jv as a freshmen, sophomore, and started his junior season on jv. Our starter at 112 then had an injury and Nichols stepped in for the remainder of the season. Then his senior year, James was a relative unknown at the beginning of the year and made a deep run in the state tournament (losing in an overtime match in the semis at state before finishing 4th). Nichols went on to wrestle in college, lettered four years, and is currently University of Indianapolis starter at 125. A great story of hard work, determination, and perserverance. WHS wishes him the best of luck in the final part of his senior year.
