  1. Those are some questionalble predictions? 1. Lawilan - He's got a shot but the kid from Memorial is tough 2. Kast - Has to get by a very good Zach Wolf from Harrision 3. Flyn - I somewhat agree with this Flyn is older and has a shot to beat a Freshmen. Should be a good match up the kid from Mt. Vernon is tough. 4. Kleeman - Has to get by Easterling and you have him winning it, didn't he lose to Haire last week? Kleeman lost Steckler in PAC and Easterling has already beaten Steckler this year. 5. Froelich - Has to get by Ruggeri that kid is a stud the odds of him getting by Ruggeri and Kercher are slim. How did the ref take away from him at the classic?? Haha.. Yea I'm a little biased towards Tell City lol. But I think Froehlich has already beaten Ruggeri. At the Classic vs. Kercher he got called for stalling three times and locked hands twice. I think only the first stalling warning and one locked hands call were legitimate. It was at MD and I think the refs were looking to call everything they could get away with in order for Kercher to win. It might have been the worst officiated match I've ever seen. I think Kleemann has the potential to win if he has the right mindset. Like I said, I'm from Tell City so I like to think they will do well. Nothing wrong with being biased for your own guys. Don't get me wrong I think Froelich has the potential but it's a tall order to beat both those guys to finish 2nd. I remember the match from the classic, I was wondering why Froelich didn't cut him in the first place. That said Kercher is wrestling much better than he was during the classic and has been a hammer as of late and is much better on his feet.
  2. You have the rule you used in your example totally wrong. To wrestle in the team regional a wrestler has to be listed on this teams sectional entry list that was sent in to the IHSAA a few weeks ago. If that wrestler was listed at 112 on the sectional entry list he can only wrestle 112 and 119 in any part of the IHSAA state tournament series. That whole recertification thing you are talking about changed about 6-8 years ago. So basically if Blake Maurer were wrestling 171 in the IHSAA Individual tournament he could only bump up to 189 in the team series not 215. What exactly does this have to do with Castle vs. MD #2?? The year Blake Maurer moved up to wrestle 215 at team state that was ok. The IHSAA put this rule in the very next year. I knew they put the rule in the year after Blake did it. I don't now what they gain by implementing this rule?? Back to the original topic MD vs Castle #2 - 29 hours and counting.......

  4. I guess I'm struggling to see what has changed so much since December?? Other than Lennie May not in the line up for MD and Sietz in the line up for Castle?? Both teams have improved through the year, but I'm certain Castle has not wrestled the schedule that Mater Dei has. Has everyone forgotten a couple of things: 1. MD Schedule is incredibly hard and prepares them for tough competition match in and match out. 2. MD has one of the toughest rooms in the state - The kids themselves are tough as nails and you have State Champions & State Places helping and pushing them to success. 3. MD kids have been in pressure situations since they were very young and always find a way to rise to the occasion. My money is on MD. I'm quite certain MD will win, but I do think it will be closer than the dual in December. The only real question is what kind of ratty sweat suit will Harmon be wearing? He only wears the ratty sweat suit for the first match - Once the finals begin then he puts his shirt and tie on......

  7. Just looking at some of your picks, some of your top 4 finishers will meet in the first round...130 Seitz and Weinzapfel, 189 Rosebrock and Rubenacker Sorry I didn't have a bracket or a good understanding of who went where. Here are my revised picks: 103 - Kuhn, Hall, Appell, Lawlilan 112 - Griesmer, Leihmkueler, Brown, Moody 119 - Johns, Schroeder, Hoehn, Mcellhiney 125 - Henderson, Rueger, Konrath, Sulawkse 130 - Girten, Sietz, Wolf, Burkhardt 135 - Weinzy, Dehaven, Welch, Wade 140 - Sims, Welch, Hoehn, Voegel 145 - Zenhoether, Richards, Boyle, Marshall 152 - King, Ritter, Stein, Weiss - I know this one will bring some comments my feeling is that these other kids don't wrestle the schedule MD & Reitz do, therefore they haven't seen the same competion. Granted you could flip these four around just about anyway. 160 - Easterling, Edge, Weikel, Smith 171 - Wedding, Mann, Boots, Choate 189 - Rosebrock, Carlisle, Price, Adams 215 - Robision, Kercher, Wimp, Ruggeri 285 - Winkle, White, Borko, Carlisle - This is anyone's guess all matches have been close or gone into OT. It depends on who shows up too wrestle. Good luck to all wrestlers!! Does anyone know who the officials are going to be???
  8. mtv2112 - I thought across the board the Memorial kids were better conditioned than any other team. Maybe the week of snow and no school hurt alot of kids??
  9. Here are my picks for the Castle Regional: 103 - Kuhn, Hall, Appell, Lawlin 112 - Moody, Limkuehler, Brown 119 - Johns, Schroeder, Hoehn 125 - Henderson, Reuger, Doud, Konrath 130 - Sietz, Girten, Weinzapel 135 - Welch, Dehaven, Weinzapel 140 - Sims, Welch, Hoehn, Voegel 145 - Zeneother, Richards, Marshall, Jines 152 - Ritter, Stien, King, Weiss 160 - Easterling, Edge, Wiekel, Smith 171 - Wedding, Mann, Choate, Boots 189 - Rosebrock, Calisle, Price, Rubenacker 215 - Robison, Kercher, Ruggeri, Sandwith 285 - Borko, White,??,??
  10. i agree 125 is worth the price od admission!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like your approach a lot better than last week. With all due respect to you, your putting a lot of pressure on your little bro when you make posts like last week, he's a stud and just needs to wrestle......and block everything else out. Good Luck to all wrestlers!!
  11. With all the hardwork and extra's you do. You should have a big ego!! We appreciate it!!!
  12. Yes on the Indianamat homepage. There not there based on Y2 post no one has sent them to him yet. Cmon coaches get them out there............
  13. Bluebolt/Nutsdad Do you guys or anyone else know how the semi-state brackets are paired up?? Based on what I see the Castle and Jeffersonville Regionals will be on one side. Is this correct or is there some kind of blind draw? Please explain it to me......
  14. I agree with you, but isn't it great fun and gives us old farts something to talk about all week. I promise you when our kids look back on these days they will say boy my family was passionate about it and hopefully they have the same kind of passion in their lives.........
  15. As you said in "my opinion", well my opinion is that you should not be calling out a kid on this website, and calling a group of parents/fans and coaches "redneck" is a bit silly. Please let me know if you disagree that Pettijohns style creates some of this, while he is wrestling he continuely moves his hands like the Karate Kid. I don't have a problem with it, it obviously works for him, he is a good wrestler. That whole super bowl thing is really funny I will have to remember that. It's kind of like when I see a Coach bump and shove an official - We all call that "THE HARMON". Lastly, most of us are ok with you calling us "Rednecks", but honestly speaking we prefer to be called "Professional Rednecks".
  16. A great day of wrestling - Congratualtions to all wrestlers! Someone said in an earlier post that there was a controversial call in the 152 final. The new rule this year states that if someone gets poked in the eye, it doesn't matter if it was an accident or not, it's a point. Ritter still had to get the escape to win as well.
  17. 100% agree with you Y2 - My point is every wrestler better show up and protect their seeds. SIAC Teams/Seeds #1 Seeds #2 Seeds #3 Seeds #4 Seeds Un-Seeded Castle 5 4 3 0 2 Mater Dei 4 4 3 2 1 Reitz 2 2 4 4 2 Memorial 2 1 1 3 7 North 1 1 0 2 10 Harrison 0 1 0 1 12 Central 0 1 2 2 9 Bosse 0 0 1 0 13
  18. Now that the brackets are posted. I can't help but wonder why 82% of the people that voted on the survey believe MD will beat Castle. Castle has 5 #1 Seeds and MD has 4, you would think the nod would go to Castle??? #1 Seeds Castle 112 - Brown 130 - Seitz - This one is difficult to understand only wrestling 5 matches 152 - Pettijohn 189 - Rosebrock 215 - Robison Mater Dei 125 - Henderson 140 - Sims 145- Zenthoefer 160 - Easterling Reitz 103 - Kuhn 119 - Johns Memorial 171 - Wedding 285 - Borko North 135 - Hufford
  19. Joe, Thanks for putting all of this up for us! Did you have to undergo and high level security clearances to get this information? It's hard to believe that it took until Thursday for someone to get this information to you.
  20. I remember a guy last year who acted like he had them and was in the "know" but really wasn't.
  21. This is extemely difficult for me and I think will continue to get tougher as this season moves along. I can remember like it was yesterday taking my son to his first wrestling practice as kindegartner. I can remember all of the practice sessions at home, all of the tournaments, camps, long drives, and really long days in gym. Warrendad - You are exactly right enjoy every minute of it, because it will end ever so quickly. I wonder sometimes what he's taken away from these experiences and how that will benefit him in his future. I wonder sometimes has he taught me more than I taught him? I hope I taught him: Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort. ::)To open up and trust himself - You've done the work in practice, traveling, you name it, you've earned the right to be on the mat, own it and make it your own. The next few weeks should NOT be filled with pressure, but an enthusiasm for what you love to do. You've taught me: How incredibly proud I am to call you son and to have been able, to be a small part of this journey with you. As I type this I can't help but feel incredibly humbled and appreciative to all of the people that have helped thru the years. The old saying it takes village to raise a child I beleive it is true.
  22. Without a doubt (Jeff Jordan State Champ Camp) is the best. I don't know what it is but the kids walk out of there feeling they can beat anyone. www.jordantrained.com
