I used the method of throwing darts at the brackets to pick the winners. We will see how this pans out for the sectional after the seedings come out.

Simms has not wrestled well all year. His match against the kid from Reitz he held on just barely to win by 2. If he wrestles like that against Welch he will lose.

My totally incorrect picks are as follows: Reitz with 4 firsts, 4 seconds, 3 thirds, 2 fourths.; Castle with 6 firsts, 2 seconds, 1 third, and 1 fourth.; MD with 2 firsts, 5 seconds, 5 thirds, and 2 fourths. I don't know how the points are scored for the team portion, but I believe Reitz will win with the most placers. Feel free to contradict me. Sent mine, although I think it sounded like it was done by a none too bright 3 year old. -
I believe we are witnessing the death of a dynasty. Last year and this year both were down years for talent. MD has had down talent years before. But never before have I seen a year where 2 varsity wrestlers from the year before don't even go out, one sure varsity starter doesn't go out, and another sure varsity wresler doesn't think it is important enough for him to crack a book. I had a teacher at MD one time told me she could tell when wrestling season started because all the wrestlers stayed awake in class so they would be able to compete. Guess it is just not important anymore. :'(

My picks were neither scientific nor based in research. They are just my guesses. Flip a coin and you will have as good a chance at getting them right as I do. I also agree it should be a great night of wrestling, and it cant get here soon enough.

No I don't believe all of them will pin, but I do believe some of them will. Advantage MD.

My picks: 103 Vanhook by decision. Could be bonus points, but Vibbert is wrestling pretty well. 112 Kuhn by tech or pin. 119 Moody is good, but Lannert could pull this one out. Too close to call 125 Henderson by fall. 130 Too close to call. 135 Reuger wins by major. 140 Raben by fall. 145 Simms by fall. 152 Schneider by decision. 160 Brandenstein by fall. 171 Boots by fall. 189 Fentress by decision. 215 Vanwinkle by decision. 285 Wimpleburg by decision. I will guess the final being around 40-25 MD. At least that is my hope. Feel free to contradict my guesses.

I have never before seen Franklin wrestlers lose composure like they did at this tourney. A knee to the head of an opposing wrestler, thrown head gear by two wrestlers(one for a team point), and finally a wrestler disqualified for telling the ref he was a f---ing idiot, not once, not twice, but three times, costing his team all the points he had acumulated. Someone needs to take control before this gets really out of hand.

Yes, MD won this match by 12 or so points. As a fan of MD wrestling, I am in no way comfortable with the outcome. MD won by 20 or so last year the first time thse two teams wrestled and lost the next time. If the kids don't apply themselves and get better this year, if these two teams meet again, the results could be the same as last year. Improvement is a must. If they don't improve the chances of the team making out of sectional, with Reitz there, are slim. Man up and get to work.

Simms vs. Richey and Boots vs. Spicer should be great matches if they occur.

I'm probably wrong, but I thought little Welch was at 112.

I will try to get this right, doing this from memory. Started at 145. Tech Welch. 152 Welch by 3 in the 3rd ot. 160 Brandenstein by 1 in the 3rd ot. 171 Boots by fall. 189 Castle by pin. 215 MD I think. 285 Castle controled this match. 103 MD by pin. 112 Castle was dominating this match, but Goebel came back strong at the end to make it only a 3 point decision. 119 I believe MD eked out a win. 125 Henderson won for MD. 130 Don't remember how this one finished. 135 Weinzapfel by tech or pin, can't remember. 140 Can't remember. Over all MD wrestled pretty well for early in the season, but will have to improve alot to have a chance against Castle or Bloomington South if they meet again. Jeffersonville was tough, as expected. If their conditioning improves they will be a force later in the year.

I hope your right, but I think Castle is a little stronger than that in the lower weights.
