  1. I think a few of the team came over to Win to watch what was suppose to be a good match. Win didn't let it turn out that way. But, like I said before, where else could you go and watch 3 potential state champs in one night?
  2. Union County of course! Centerville showed up for the UC/Win. match Tuesday. We should have just had a double dual.
  3. Sounds like someone doesn't like cross country! I won't go on any rants but I would have to agree with UCDad that it would be A CLOSE SECOND (not as much) You have far greater knowledge than I when it comes to tec wrestling, thus your picks look great. Only thing I would say different is that it will probably be semi state before Cody gets a test and probably Duck as well. Chalfant more like the state finals.
  4. It is true Pitbull. UC suffered some forfeits that they normally would not have. BUT, Winchester flexed its muscle and won the matches. Phillips, Duckworth, Rogers and Gesell all had impressive wins. Chalfant is a beast and I can't see anyone matching him on strength. There may be more technically sound wrestlers, but he can probably beat anyone on strength.
  5. 103 Phillips UCo 140 Rogers Uco 145 Gesell UCo 171 Duckworth UCo 285 Chalfant Win Uphaus from Centerville These are the names I am familiar with that should be conference champs. Can't think of the kid from Northeastern @ 160. I am fairly new to the wrestling scene, but it is a wonderful sport to watch. These kids deserve a lot of credit for what they do to be the best in their sport. I tried it in high school--toughest thing I ever did was try to wrestle.
  6. @ Union City on Sat. 1/24. Winchester handled Union Co. last night fairly easily. Nice to watch a TEC match with 3 potential state champs competing.
  7. Didn't think he would lose, but he wasn't listed in the Richmond Palladium Item paper as a winner. Is this long term or a one match deal?
  8. Did Chalfant wrestle for Winchester or was he beaten?
  9. What does "get caught" mean? He wasn't ready? Was he watching another match out of the corner of his eye when the ref blew the whistle? I agree though that he got caught by a better wrestler that day. Different day and maybe a different result. Time will tell.
  10. Michael Duckworth of Union County @ 171 25-0 (22 pins-3 forfeit) Cody Phillips also 25-0. @ 103 Both were Spartan Classic Champs with Phillips being MVP of Tournament.
  11. Lumpkin from Union County has beaten Quicksall from Lawrenceburg twice (by fall) this year at 285. Only 2 losses on the year as of 12/20.
  12. Ok , Union County got a little lesson today. Patriots were able to beat Triton but that was it. 1-4 on the day. Duckworth and Phillips remain undefeated for the year. Lumpkin at 285 and Gesell at 145 went 4-1 against tough competition.
  13. Union Co. is at the New Palestine Invite. Can't remember who all is in it. I think Duckworth has legit shot at 171 championship at the Spartan Classic and the team should score in the top 5 for small schools. Just my biased opinion.
  14. Any head to head TEC match scores available? Union Co. 54 Tri 21 UC 66 Northeastern 17 UC 60 Hagerstown 24 UC 64 Union City 18
  15. Easy Coach. I'm not trying to bust your chops on this. Duckworth is committed to 171 for the year. He can't cut to 160 anymore.
  16. Coach123, You predict at 171 that Duckworth is going to struggle? Just curious UC vs. Winchester has been rescheduled to Jan 13, 2009
