  3. www.hywaywrestling.com - hit registration and join as club or a wrestler on the database. HYWAY involves several other states in a group called NUWAY. Ie= Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada. See the info: http://www.nuwaywrestling.net/ I think there are 17 states now on board last time I checked. Club is $75 per year and Card for member club is $15 per year and tournament fee vary. Folkstyle wrestling with great organization ideas such as matside pairings, database, etc. Most states use more than just one organization for youth wrestling so, I suppose it will work out. HYWAY is designed to reinvest any profits to grow wrestling at grass roots level. HYWAY is growing in popularity as people begin to understand how it works and how much ownership the Varsity Coaches enjoy in decisions and control. HYWAT events are getting more frequent and better as coaches figure out it is not complicated to use matside pairings. This year will make the 3rd State Finals. HYWAY in our area provides Elementary dual-match-ups on Fridays and some Sunday events for mat time during High School season. Then opens after high school. Nationally NUWAY provides fantastic events in individual and dual team competitions.
  4. H1N1, HYWAY and MYWAY are under the same group NUWAY with several other states. You can learn more about it if you are interested at: http://nuwaywrestling.net/ The other states and how it works can be found here. Membership is membership. You can cross state lines to compete but, you have to compete in your home state region and state tournament. If you have more questions contact director Andy Hobbs.   17. I am getting great response for this event. The NEW round robin format gaurantees several matches. It is a very slick concept.

Peru will be hosting Take Down Tournament Saturday Nov. 14 Wrestlers K-grade 12 High School age wrestlers can compete IHSAA By-Law During School Year Out-of-Season (Prior to November 16th, 2009) 15-2.1 Individual Sports (Cross Country, Golf, Gymnastics, Swimming, Tennis, Track, Wrestling) MODIFICATION: folkstyle rules but, if you go out of bound you start on feet.   21. HYWAY is intended to start after football season and end spring break. K-8 tournament on mostly Sunday due to High School wrestling. HYWAY is having triple duals in our area on almost every friday evening prior to super 6 high school events. In the next 30 days HYWAY members will have a meeting to establish 4 regions. HYWAY will operate everything from REGIONS. Each region will keep their money in their region to reinvest in the kids and keep the cost low. The excutive board only gets dollars from cards, club dues, and state tournament. The regions keep the remaining dollars in their regions' clubs. As for investment so far: HYWAY had to purchase a $600 /year the past two years for the banner ad on IHSWCA website in order to be allowed to post HYWAY tournament info and results. (Too bad this website got jacked) Pay athlete insurance which is approx. $8 per wrestler for insurance for the year. A small royalty for matside pairing software. A laptop and printer to build tournaments used at most events this season. We are running pretty thin on dollars but, the wrestling events have been great. IMPORTANT: Anyone with a HYWAY card can compete in OHIO (ourway) or Michgan (Myway) tournaments each weekend too. Several other states are organizing at this time to join the HYWAY - NUWAY concept. Future investments: Planning on helping Ohio and Michigan pay for FLOwrestling band width so, we can communicate. This will also provide a good website.
