  1. The information age has arrived and I personally think it makes for a greater democracy were issues are out in the open not swept under the rug. Sorry to disagree with you. Did anyone really care about Eastern HS until this explosion took place? We talk about ethics and morals and what is legal or not legal. In defense of Eastern HS, what they did was try to do what was best for the kids. It was legal and above board not under the table. Isn't that what the big programs like to claim when their ethics are brought in to question? Eastern HS, as it has been said, made a decision which turned out to be the straw that broke the camels back. Let us not forget all the bricks that were piled on before the camel broke down. As I have said before there is a lot more wrong with wrestling in the state of Indiana than is seen here. It is just under the rug. To Eastern HS all your fans, coaches and especially the KIDS. Hold your head high and march on. Respectfully Oscar
  2. Apples To oranges I think ??? They are a private school with a lot of tradition and a lot of geographical drawing power. Not to mention a foundation that begins in Rome!
  3. Without getting too specific, I will try to explain my position.Let me first say this,I am not against the team competition aspect of this sport. In fact I love it. I do not like what I see in Indiana's current team series, and I think you know what that is. One thing that I personally disagree with is the idea that the individuals well being should be compromised or sacrificed for the sake and pursuit of a team title or in the case of Eastern HS for the sake of saving a currently "broken" team state format. They have absolutely-0% chance of winning a state title in its current form. I do not propose an inferior format, just a different format which more clearly separates the the individual from the team tournament. I know," easier said than done". So the wrestling community has its work cut out for it. As I said before, this a lame horse that needs to be put down so we can find a better one to replace it. It is good for our sport because we can do better and this is what I hope comes out of this in the end. Change can be good. Respectfully Oscar
  4. This post is just an extension of the original post regarding Eastern HS. Pulling out of Team competition. Talk about B.S. ??
  5. Agreed ! So lets put this lame horse down and try to find a way to replace it with something good for the sport. PS: Love the cartoon :)
  6. Were did you hear this at 2:33:49 AM today??? Bobby Cox up worrying about this?
  7. Another interesting stat. How many current 3 and 4 time state champs went through 103 and 112 weight class? Any future multiple champs would be more impressive. Never have seen a 4 time heavy weight.
  8. Is Bull Sitter OK ? ;D Now Let's get back on topic. Oh YAH... Winning at all Cost Or is that Cast. Do you Know who the newest hot wrestling recruit is? I heard there was a family out southeast just popping out studs. :-X
  9. An old bull shitter like you? ;D I would say you definetly have a future in public relations.
  10. You ever think of becoming a comedian? ;D ;D ;D Maybe a High School Recruiter?? ;D ;D
  11. How about you get rid of that picture of Marlon Brando and replace it with a picture of Dennis the Menace ;D Very funny Mr. .... W60160. Tricky T... Has a certain ring to it.
  12. As long as there are no consequences, they do not care. Remember, we are talking about the lack of morals and ethics. Bernie Matoff,of Wall Street fame, only cares because he is now spending the rest of his life in prison. This topic has never been about the kids or kid in this case doing anything wrong. There is a lot more wrong with the whole system than meets the eye in this situation.
  13. A-A-A-A-A-A-A-AA-A-A-A-Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh !
  14. Are you still wondering? This is a serious issue which needs to be discussed.I think most would agree.
  15. I was waiting for this one to drop. I thought it might take a couple of days though. Thanks for the insight. Is your son ok with all this? Seems he would be little upset. Is the back-up wrestler ok with this? Or is it a case of sorry kid you just are not good enough?
  16. It Is LEGAL for private schools to advertise themselves, usually for acedemic prowess, giving them a much broader geographical area to draw from. Is it fair? You tell me. Just LEGAL!
  17. You forgot to google first. I am an army of "ONE". Triumvirates refers to council of three. Hence "Tri". It is a discussion. I will try to be civil. Respectfully Oscar
  18. I think it is clear that it is legal. But is it ethical?? I would not take away a kids spot no matter how legal it was. There is an ethics line here that I personally do not want to cross. I don' t think Mr.W restler60160 thinks it is ok but just that it is happening, has happened and will continue t happen unless people like Brian103 speak up. Correct me if I am wrong Wrestler60160. What do those numbers stand for anyway???
  19. Do you even know who Phaedrus was??? ;D
  20. Nickster are you still wearing those ROSE COLORED GLASSES??? 8)
  21. In freestyle wrestling a great deal more is open to the referees interpretation of the rules. I am not a ref but I would interpret this as a "brutal" move which could lead to disqualification for the offensive wrestler.Reference Articles 53-55 pages 51-53 of freestyle rules book for clarification of all the possoble outcomes. I am not a ref as I said but in the "spirit of the sport" my call would be to send a message of, this is not acceptable standard for wrestling at least at this level. The risk of serious injury are too great. Any one who does not agree.... well ... you could always join the Marines and hit the Afgan front with my nephew Eric. Were the only rule is to stay alive and that includes killing the opponent(enemy) in that pursuit.
  22. Messing with the IHSAA.............. ;D Very Funny!
  23. Matt First let me say thank you for the story on Boone Grove and Coach Line. All I can say is job well done Coach Line. Character and class all the way. Winning titles pales to winning respect and changing lives of young men along the way. My hat is off to you. Bravo! Bravo! Respectfulluy Oscar
