  1. Blake Rypel is there also @Junior 195. He is 3-0 and in quarters. Breyden Bailey is 4-0. Both have wrestled very well and have tough matches ahead tomorrow.

I believe Brandon James is undefeated at Senior 132.

  2. I was definitely surprised to hear that Chase was the first state champ in such a long time. It seems like they have had a solid program for a while. I know my son thought the summer camp there was brutal so I can only imagine how hard Coach Harper works those boys all year. Although I would have personally liked to see Cathedral win it all on Saturday, a congrats to Penn is in order. Great Job!

  3. I think Rypel's closest match of the year was a major decision...He's tough

This season was- 43 falls, 3 tech falls, and 1 major. I know some may say that his weight class wasn't "as deep" as some of the others but there was some good competition and he tried to move around for the best matches whenever possible.

    Interesting break-down Po-Tweet.

Thank you to everyone who has posted compliments about Blake. He appreciates the recognition for his hard work.

  4. Cathedral against Mason, OH

182- Ben Stewart over Seth Warwick 3-1

195- Blake Rypel over Jordan Collins (#2 D1 OH)

113- Zack Donathon (#2 D1 OH) over Skylour Turner 4-2

120- Breyden Bailey over Patrick Kearney (#3) 5-2

126- Zach Melloh pinned Collin Schuster (#12)

170- Ben Harvey over Cameron Pitts (#14)

  5. We have seen the same thing. I can see the point sometimes but other times it is very frustrating for the wrestler receiving the forfeit and it is hurting him in the long run. I get if they don't want to send out a beginner guy but we have seen it from good opponents where both wrestlers would have benefitted from a good match. In many cases, the outcome of the dual was already decided so it was not for strategic scoring reasons.

It really sucks that it happened to your wrestler on senior night :-(
