Here is a link to the quarter final match ups- there are still quite a few IN guys in it.
-
Blake Rypel is there also @Junior 195. He is 3-0 and in quarters. Breyden Bailey is 4-0. Both have wrestled very well and have tough matches ahead tomorrow.
I believe Brandon James is undefeated at Senior 132.

I was definitely surprised to hear that Chase was the first state champ in such a long time. It seems like they have had a solid program for a while. I know my son thought the summer camp there was brutal so I can only imagine how hard Coach Harper works those boys all year. Although I would have personally liked to see Cathedral win it all on Saturday, a congrats to Penn is in order. Great Job!

I think Rypel's closest match of the year was a major decision...He's tough
This season was- 43 falls, 3 tech falls, and 1 major. I know some may say that his weight class wasn't "as deep" as some of the others but there was some good competition and he tried to move around for the best matches whenever possible.
Interesting break-down Po-Tweet.
Thank you to everyone who has posted compliments about Blake. He appreciates the recognition for his hard work.

This is heartbreaking. Our thoughts are with the Herrick Family.
-
All 6 of Cathedral's guys made it.
-
I thought it was just a forfeit
You are right, sorry.

Zach Melloh with a 9-1 win over the person he lost to last week.
-
Zach Melloh (Cath) over Trez O'Neal (HH) 6-0
Both Flood boys (Pend Heights) went down to Melloh and D Stewart first round.

Does anyone have any update on the Kokomo wrestler that was taken out by ambulance today?

Minus 1 team point Cathedral for letting the ref know that he was very bias :-)

126- Uk over Melloh 9-7 - I can't wait to watch Melloh over the next few years
132- Napier 11-2 over D Stewart although many thought Napier should have been DQ'd after a smack to the face and a head butt.
Team score 15-16 Perry
138- James tech over Lozano 21-15 Perry
-
113- Turner 4-1 over Servies. 12-9 Cathedral

Started out with a heck of a match with Tonte and Stewart both moving up to 195. 1-1 score with a stalling call at :01 in 3rd. Final 2-1 Tonte.
It looks like Stewart is back for sure.
220- Rypel with pin over Schjoll
Hwt- R Guhl 3-1 over Riddle
106- fall Perry
Team score 9-9

We have seen the same thing. I can see the point sometimes but other times it is very frustrating for the wrestler receiving the forfeit and it is hurting him in the long run. I get if they don't want to send out a beginner guy but we have seen it from good opponents where both wrestlers would have benefitted from a good match. In many cases, the outcome of the dual was already decided so it was not for strategic scoring reasons.
It really sucks that it happened to your wrestler on senior night :-(

Ben is wrestling. He competed this past weekend at the North Central duals with a 5-0 record.
-
Yep, he is just that awesome. Geez, those rankings guys must be clueless, lol.

Kudos to Anderson. They did bump him to 13 and he have Turner a great match. 5-1 Turner final
