I'm familiar with both kids and it's a toss-up IMO. Besides Ayersman is a true freshman (14/15 years old) while Phillips is 1-2 years older. So Phillips' age could range anywhere from from 15-17? No, Ayersman is a 1st year ISWA Cadet (14/15) while Phillips is a 1st year ISWA Junior (16/17).

I don't recall if he pinned him but he did score a lot of back points (9?). It was close to a TF.

I agree with both comments, Surma is the best I've seen in HS and Paul would be a high state placer if we still had a 98 lb class. Brooks and Petrov will be at Conseco next year for sure.

What is the name of that move that M'Ville uses on top that looks like a choke hold. I think at least a few CP kids were ready to tap out and one did. I assume it's legal but don't have a name for it. Oh, I almost forgot. Congrats CP and good luck at state; you will represent the region well.

No snow in Munster, just cold as heck. I'd also prefer Wed/Sat but we'll see.

They will just back it up one night to Thursday if postponed tomorrow. I'm right in the middle of Portage, Chesterton & Valpo and we got pounded pretty good. The blowing snow is actually a bigger problem than the actual snow at this point, but there may be more to come thanks to Lake Michigan! Do you happen to know at what point the decision to have or not have has to be made (tonight/tmr morning/afternoon). Need to make plans to get there. Thx

I think it makes sense to take 4. We take 4 out of sectionals and 4 out of semi-state so why not regionals. I'm fairly certain that a #4 seed will beat a #1 seed int the opening semi-state round. At least there's 16 chances. Let's face it some regionals are stacked at certain weight classes and others are not.

From what I heard Campbell can beat Mullins so if McKinley wrestles Campbell it should be an interesting match. I don't mean to bad mouth any wrestlers, but I lost a little respect for Harvey. He refused to wrestle Campbell because he didn't want to lose. I understand you don't ever really want to lose, but you win some you lose some. Will Arsenal wrestle New Castle? I spoke to a kid from there and he said that Dominique Price is pretty big too. Given that Cambell did very well at 112 in the ISWA, I can see why he is top ranked at 103. That will be a very interesting semi-state.

McKinley is the darkhorse in that semistate. He went toe-to-toe with Mullins at ISWA FS state but fell short.

What about the 1.5% per week. How could this be possible? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? Maybe he's only weighing at 146 or 147. Just because he's wrestling 152 doesn't mean he is weighing in at 152 or 153 and I'm pretty sure this does happen to be the case with him. He's wrestling at a weight that makes most sense for the team. Come sectionals he wrestles at a weight that's best for him.

Then you can decide on Munster HS. ;D Or you can go somewhere that wins. ;D Hey, were on the rise like Portage. Top 5 in Lake County. BTW, did you wrestle in the Midwest Classic (IL) before HS. If I recall correctly you were the talk of the IL boards after you beat some of their best. Good luck this year except against Estrada.

Is McMurray going 152 for state. If so, McMurray/Estrada will make an interesting semi-state.
