  1. Unfortunatly that is what the average UFC fan wants. That is one thing I miss about pride, as fans, they truely understood the ground game.
  2. There was a movie in the early 80's about a guy that is forced to teach misfit kids to wrestle, even though he knows nothing about it. He starts reading books and starts turning the kids around, but I cannot remember the name of it. I also heard they were looking at trying to do a Kyle Maynard movie, it would be very inspiring if done right
  3. Thanks to Huntington for their usual very well run tourney. Considering how bad it could have been with the satellite weighin mess up, I don't think it could have went better!
  4. http://oakhillwrestling.com/ http://www.ohusc.k12.in.us/Athletics/Wrestling/wrestling.htm'>http://www.ohusc.k12.in.us/Athletics/Wrestling/wrestling.htm and in case you care about academics http://www.ohusc.k12.in.us/ This is also a message I received today from an antonymous person, proof that it isn't win at all costs. "you coaches do a great job at oak hill...the most respectful group of kids year in and year out...always good sports and very disciplined. and your youth program is looking very impressive im sure there are some great years coming up for oak hill. every school needs that good of a youth program! "
  5. How about Oak Hill? It's in the middle of where you are looking, and we have a great up and coming program. And a very solid soph. class, and a bunch of very experienced club kids waiting in line from here on out. Not to mention it's a great, small town school.
  6. And to think, if you eliminated this weight class, you would never have experienced that! Great story, and it really is all about the kids.
  7. Joe, even though he doesn't want to be on here, he is deserving of the #8 spot at 152. Matt Davenport at 152 for Oak Hill has beat 3 kids in your top seven in the last 10 days. He beat McGuinn, pinned Kern, and beat Finnerty of JC tonight 6-1. he is 22-4, all 4 were decision loses to guys that are ranked (Bratcher, McGuinn, Pogue(2).
  8. Yes, I was just commenting that he hasn't been knocked out by guys 2 weight classes heavier than his, so I don't/didn't see Franklin KO'ing him. Or winning for that matter.
  9. Henderson has never been knocked out, even when he fought up 1 or 2 weight classes. A submission, maybe, but Franklin isn't the one to look only for subs.
  10. Sweet! Armantrout looked like he was on a mission today. He gets my vote for wrestler of the week after majoring Randle and Franklin after originally being a #5 seed (he moved to #4 because Arenas was unable to compete). I wondered what happened to Bohner of Southwood. Armantrout was named MVP.
  11. Now we know Y2's real reason for trying to eliminate 103!
  12. Our AD got an email that said that. Good thing it isn't a pound for each day missed! I think we would be at 2.5, plus the 2# growth allowance.
  13. I bet the ones in Floridia, Texas, and Cali still go! ;D Man I miss Texas right about now! Schools open here (CA) BUT they have an early release .....they get out at 1:00pm every friday! DOH! From the descriptions everyone is reporting of the weather....Man I don't miss IN winters about now! 8) dude it's so cold, my starter jacked sounded like a glad trash bag, 1 minute after being outside. And that was when it was warmer yesterday. My wifes car said -26 this a.m. with out the wind chill!!!! 67, not a cloud in the sky. When I dropped awood1a off at the HS this morning (in shorts) the corner is packed with girls in Ugh boots, scarves, mittens and big fluffy coats (mid 40's in the AM) Folk's here are whining because it might not break 70 this weekend.....it's all about perspective kid! HAHA The Guvernator says, just tell yourself "I am NOT cold!" HAHA One of our assitant coaches just moved here this year. He broke out this giant parka back in November when it was in the 30's and low 40's. I asked what he was going to do when it got cold! He said, it gets colder then this? lol
  14. Most kids aren't coached only by there dads till high school in football.

  16. Just got this email, didn't see it posted, just passing it on. Duneland Folkstyle Open scheduled to be held this Sunday (1/18/09) has been cancelled, by order of the high school due to Extreme Weather Conditions!! Please call Marc Gillespie @ 219/405-0336 or Keith Davison @ 219/617-0034 with any questions
  17. Family and freinds isn't to bad, if they just go talk for a minute then come back. I hate when you can't find them cause they are off with thier girlfriends. We have a pretty good freshman who broke up with his long time girlfriend, right before the season started. Told her he didn't want any distractions. That's a smart frosh!

  19. Henderson, first round knock out.
  20. i think you are right, brock getting submitted last time had a lot to do with inexperience in the cage. of the three main aspects of mma, striking, grappling and submissions, i think that submissions tend to be most fighters weak link early on. lesner smelled blood, and got sloppy in that first fight. he said that he has been emphasizing that weakness in practice. so i think if he is able to minimize that part of mir's game, his strenghths will be too much for mir to handle. I think Mir will want to go to the ground ASAP. One hit from his mail box sized hands and Mir will be out, I think he felt a little of that last time. I am guessing he will try and back pedal to tire Brock out, then try to pull guard and go for a leg sub. I don't even know if you could get a rear naked choke around Brocks neck! ;D
