Very happy for Katie. This falls into the category of Something Too Good to Pass Up. Coach Kriebel will be coaching at the Worlds (Serbia this fall), Pan Ams and Olympics. She will definitely be missed but what an amazing reality: Two members of our Olympic team (Sarah and Kayla) and now a coach all from Indiana. With Alara Boyd being the next Hoosier to stake her claim to a spot on Team USA at the senior level. Not bad for a state that has not yet sanctioned the sport for women in high school! Dave Cloud -
No perfect solution. The best mat is a one piece Resilite Classic. No tape or seams. But they are heavy and do not take well to being left rolled up for prolonged periods. You will end up with creases and a curl on the inside end of the mat roll. We have a Velcro type and are having some problems with the velcro coming unglued and the foam splitting in the area with the velcro tab overlaps the next section. I can get you the contact for a friend who is a rep for Resilite. He told me that the classic mat is the best option for a room and daily use. You can do amazing graphics now with the digi print. Coaches: I have received a couple of inquiries about the USMC/NWCA Character Awards. You have not missed the deadline! I just heard from Nate Naasz at the NWCA. He is meeting with Marine representatives this week to hopefully finalize details on the program. As soon as I receive the info I will post it here. Coaches: This Friday, April eighth, is the deadline for the USMC/NWCA Scholar All-American Award. You must be a member of the NWCA to nominate a wrestler. The information is in the link below. Go to the members portal on the NWCA website (nwcaonline.com and sign in). The nomination for is the first item under Home on the left menu of the member portal. Wrestlers: Ask your coach to nominate you if you meet the criteria: 1) 3.5 Individual Grade Point Average (Based on a 4.0 Scale) 2) Either Fall Semester or Cumulative GPA3) Athlete must be a 2021-22 Varsity Letter Winner 4) Coach must be a member of NWCA

Coaches and Wrestlers: The nomination period is now open for the USMC/NWCA Academic award. There is a deadline of April 8 for these nominations. Coaches need to be members of the NWCA to submit nominations. Wrestlers, please encourage your coach to nominate you if you meet the criteria: 1) High school wrestlers only, 2) GPA of 3.5 or higher on 4 scale, 3) Letter recipient this past season. The nomination form is found in the Member's Only Portal on the NWCA site (nwcaonline.com).

Super Danny Williams and the Big Flash Jake O'Brien. Danny was recuperating from a broken ankle (amazing) and had the flu on the day of Semi-State. Jake was recovering from Mono, I think. Can you imagine winning your Semi-State and you draw one of those guys?
