  1. This gave me an idea. If you want to motivate your kids, send me a PM and I'll put up a post picking against your kids. Price is two hot dogs.
  2. I posted it somewhere else, but in the 150 lb weight class, at least 5 of the top 16 ranked wrestlers will be eliminated on Saturday.
  3. Just looking at 150 across the state, the way the draws have come out, you're going to lose at least 5 wrestlers out of the top 16 at semi state. If the rankings play out like they should in the first round, here are the ticket round matches Evansville #1 Krejsa vs #14 Bonenberger #2 May vs #3 Gibbs East Chicago #10 Bohn vs #15 Davis #7 Smith vs #9 Nowaczyk New Castle #4 Weaver vs #8 Getz
  4. Illinois did not have full wrestle backs in 96 and 97 when I wrestled in that state.
  5. The least intrusive way to do wrestlebacks would be this. You lose in the first round, and you are done. If you lose in the quarters, then you have to hope the guy who beat you wins in the semis and then you wrestle the guy who lost in the semis. It would add 28 total matches to the day. Divide 28 by 4 mats, so 7 matches per mat. Each match takes about 10 minutes let's say, so you're adding about 60-70 minutes to the day.
  6. The IHSAA knows that you're not supposed to wrestle on your back. Therefore, no wrestlebacks.
  7. I returned to Hobart high school to enjoy some Regional #1 wrestling, and, more important, check out the hot dogs. First things first, on my first trip to Hobart, I do believe they did slip me a polish sausage, which is funny, because that's the same line my ex girlfriend gave me when I caught her cheating. Anyway, I did enjoy this hot dog better, but, there was one thing. Both dogs I got were Luke warm at best, so that did impact the score. The regional hot dogs get 5.75 slices of pizza outta 8. Now, I did have a guest reviewer, my kid Chris Jr. and this is how that interaction went. CJ "those hot dogs were good" he stares back into his phone Me " they were? Why?" Cj - annoyed sigh Me " tell me" Cj- annoyed grumble Me "how many slices of pizza?" Cj "7, I guess" back to phone. Next stop, semi state at East Chicago. It feels like I was just there. Thank you for reading.
  8. Illinois had their regionals yesterday (they do regionals, sectionals, state) and when I checked last night around 8, they already had their sectional brackets built and released.
  9. It says the information will be released to the public tomorrow, but if the brackets aren't built, I just checked and they haven't been, all you will see are the participants names when 3:30 comes around and that's it. You won't see who is wrestling who. The complete lack of communication about this stuff is baffling. It's not hard to send out an email to tell people when the brackets will be built. I've said it before, it really seems as though some people enjoy holding this power over people's heads.
  10. Wow, so, in the before time in the long, long ago, I wrestled for Argo high school, and coach Greg Kolke referred to me as "Bad to the". You just brought back a lost memory my friend.
  11. According to the IHSAA wrestling post season page, these are the approved broadcasts for regionals. Maybe it's time someone set up an Indiana pirate stream for the postseason. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQlr4FvfTw5fkBRFcnYms2mZZeg3ra_zhyaHh62Yx42nrDxlrfupARpLosME2FduyDm5Lm7jiT6vKrr/pubhtml
  12. I predict everyone who gets a hotdog will be very happy with their purchase.
  13. Hey @ontherise219 , if you end up going to Hobart Saturday, wanna meet up and share a hot dog? How do you tag people?
  14. This past Saturday, the Munster wrestling team, and therefore I, went to East Chicago for the first leg of the state series. Now, the past three years, the East Chicago hot dogs were phenomenal. A couple of times, I might've gone out the night before sectionals or semi state and consumed a few beverages. And the perfect cure for condition I was in were these hot dogs. So, with great anticipation, I headed to concessions, saw the hot dogs were still being cooked in the quality 7/11 rollers, handed my money to the worker, and went to enjoy this hot dog. But... They changed the dogs. These new ones were big and plump, but the taste just wasn't there. I was massively disappointed. I was so disappointed that if Chris Jr. were only a junior, I would petition to get Munster moved to the Mooresville sectional and regional. I'm not saying these hot dogs were bad, just, I wanted more. 4.5 slices of pizza outta 8. I'm heading to Hobart this Saturday for regionals and will conduct a retaste of their weiners. Thank you for reading.
  15. Seeing as my son wrestles 150, I'm curious to see who places where at 150 at this Regional. Vanover, Smith and Bonenberger are grade A studs. Who gave Smith his two losses? Some 5 time Kentucky state champ? You can win 5 titles in Kentucky, seeing the average student in that state takes 6 years to complete high school.
  16. Aw shucks, you're making me blush. I'll have the East Chicago hot dog review up tomorrow or Wednesday, and then the rematch against Hobart is Saturday.
  17. I didn't mean to leave anyone out, I just went off the top of my head.
  18. It's not that people are picking Huyvaert to win, hell, he's my pick, it's people on this board are acting as Reese Courtney, Parker Reynolds, Zar Walker, and others have ZERO chance of beating Huyvaert. I dared to mention that Courtney could beat him, considering, well, Courtney beat Huyvaert last year and some dude felt it necessary to dog on my kid because Huyvaert teched Chris.
  19. If that really is the thought process, why release the brackets at all? The brackets will change if a kid misses weight, or gets sick or injured the night before. There's plenty of things that can happen from 9 am Friday until 9 am Saturday that would change the brackets. My post probably comes across a bit aggressive and combative, but that is not directed at you. Its directed at whoever made the decision to hold off on releasing the brackets. Honestly, I think they get a kick out of making people wait.
  20. Yeah but we need to know which wrestlers drew numbers one and two
  21. Track says the brackets will be released Friday at nine. But I know Joe gets sent some of the brackets early, and he'll post those.
