  1. Silas Allred Riley Lefever (might be the GOAT surname) Noah Hollendonner Cody Crary Joe Lee Tommy Cash Dylan Lydy Blake Rypel
  2. Who are some guys with some of the coolest names in the sport that you’ve ever heard? Ones that made you think, “Okay, that’s a dope name for a wrestler.” I’ll give a few: Reakus Shelton Zack Fattore Brad Laughlin (Who doesn’t love a good Brad?) Chad Red Cody LeCount Stevan Micic
  3. Literally, right after it happened, I said out loud during his celebration, “He just went Super Saiyan God.” That cradle was incredible.
  4. Evansville 120 #3 Ty Henderson vs. #4 Preston Haines or #7 Isaac Ash
  5. INSTANT Match of the Year candidate… That was phenomenal!

  8. On their best day, could beat anyone in the state, but on their worst, could lose to anyone… Who are some of these guys?
  9. 2015. Worst meltdown ever for us. We were #1 and expecting 8 or 9 to go to State that year.
  10. A lot of the Tylin Thrine takes feel like forced hate. He’s a literal nationally-ranked state champion, and all season I’ve seen posters act as if he doesn’t stand a chance towards Hockaday or even Isaiah Schaefer when there was some talk as if he would go 126. Yet, a lot of those same posters were ready to crown Nick Lee ten years ago before he even had a title over Micic and then were totally confident he’d beat Red in HS after he won a title. Y’all had that amount of confidence for Lee either time, yet Tylin, a PROVEN state champion and upset specialist, somehow isn’t in the same ballpark as Hockaday? Now, if the match already happened or if the eventual result significantly favors Hockaday, that’s one thing, but to act like he has no shot before the match even happens despite his credibility is crazy.
  11. What are some of the biggest upsets on the regional stage in history?
  12. I wrestled in there during summer of 2015… An awesome room and with an awesome coach. Maldonado is a cool guy.
  13. As the postseason approaches, what athlete looks to be in top form and is poised to win a state title?
  14. Westfield not having a champ is actually surprising.
  15. As we approach the postseason, I’m curious to know what coaches and/or programs have made the most finals appearances at the IHSAA State tournament without a single victory?
  16. Which program seems to consistently produce qualifiers, medalists, and/or state champions at a particular weight class? I would have to think Evansville Mater Dei at 132/130, right? EMD at 132/130 Chad Martin (1999) - All-State, 5th Place Blake Maurer (2001) - State Champion Craig Weinzapfel (2002) - All-State, 3rd Place Matt Coughlin (2003) - State Finalist Drew Lappe (2006) - All State, 3rd Place Jerry Parkinson (2007) - All-State, 8th Place Branson Schroeder (2012) - State Qualifier Blake Jourdan (2014) - State Qualifier Nick Lee (2015-16) - 2015 State Champion, 2× Finalist Kyle Luigs (2017) - All-State, 4th Place Eli Dickens (2018) - State Qualifier Clay Egli (2019) - State Qualifier Kane Egli (2020) - All-State, 4th Place Alec Freeman (2021) - State Finalist
  17. What wrestlers had an incredible year that included anything from most ranked wins, most bonus point wins, most wins overall, and everything in between only for it to not end with a championship?
  18. God, I do love those singlets too. The green ones are just as fire.
  19. Which school has some of your favorite singlets that you enjoy seeing? Some of my favorites include Yorktown’s all green singlet with the tiger on the back, Lawrence North’s white singlet with the red belt, Penn’s gold pinstripe singlet, Perry Meridian’s Carolina singlet, and Avon’s all yellow singlet with the black lettering on the leg.
