    FLO v. Track

I had purchased a TrackCast of Pre-Season Nationals (the one in Cedar Falls, IA) and had issues with my login. I got immediate customer service and they fixed it before any of the kids I wanted to watch had even wrestled. I was impressed with their prompt attention to this! Speaking of Pre- and Post Season Nationals in Cedar Falls... Does track have a contract with USAW? One year I went as a coach to Post-season Nationals and they were real sticklers about Bronze Cert. Whereas Flo doesn't seem to care at all, they just charge (a hefty) fee for a particular tournament... Also, I think Flo really promotes themselves by highlighting the kids that compete. Not sure if Track does this as well even when they have some extremely talented wrestlers competing in events they cover.

    FLO v. Track

I'm just trying to get In Mat to remove the 'content will need to be approved by a moderator' setting on my account. I don't even want a raise... Oooops, I'm starting to hijack my own topic. True point here! This is an area Track would really need to improve. They are doing some small stuff with their interviews etc... This one of my pet peeves that seems like it should be reasonably easy to fix. Basic navigation back and forth could be updated.

    FLO v. Track

Would be interested to see if their customer satisfaction increased if these ads were run at the end of matches. There is usually a short gap between matches and (at least for good matches) missing the first 15 seconds of a match is usually not that big of a deal... I am not a computer guy, but I am assuming this is a programming hassle and they just set the ads to come up at certain time intervals. I would think the ads could be linked to an action on the computer involved in bringing up a new match...
  4. Instead of hijacking another thread... What are your thoughts on Flo Wrestling vs. Track Wrestling? Pro's and Con's... My opinion is that Flo is on the rise and will derail track within 5 years.
  5. For a couple of years I've been thinking 6-8 of the teams that get left out on the bubble (any class) should just for a super-dual on the same date. That way if you are a contender you have the date open, if not you have a back-up plan annually.
  6. Great Opportunity here! Good news the 250 mile radius means technically anyone in the state should be able to attend this IF they have the time/travel means. Just curious is the RWO option from some schools because of these RTC regulations? Do all RTC's actually follow these regulations? Is there a list of all official RTC's in the state for a kid who wants to focus on Olympic Styles? I know about the list on ISWA, but do those follow the guidelines posted or is that up to individual directors of those sites? Also, I see others listed on In Mat that are not on the ISWA site???
  7. Seems to me that when we get to the vote in teams there will always be arguments to be made on either side. It's not clear cut either way. I doubt it was a unanimous vote. I suppose when you end up 'just out' it simply gives you motivation to make a statement next year. I know it is especially nice if you get to face some of those teams that got in above you in head to head duals. Present your case for the error on the mat Just my 2 cents worth...
  8. This is a true point. That said, lots of things are illegal (full nelson, head-lock without an arm, certain mat returns...). In all cases a point is awarded for the application of the illegal hold. If the wrestler is injured as a result of the illegal move and is UNABLE to continue, then the match results in a DQ. It seems to me that the discussion on this point is a result of the second half of that rule. Did the illegal move result in INJURY? Did the INJURY prevent the wrestler from continuing? I still have not seen the video, so this is just my 2 cents about the scenario, not this instance.
  9. Startlingly little competition for Parris @ this meet. Was he wrestling up just for a challenge? Hopefully he's at least getting some warm-up for the Dream Team match up with Whitman next week. Just my 2 cents
  10. That would be my 2 cents as well. He competed at 138 during the HS season and "132" is 137 @ FloNationals. Seems like a good call. Don't think it means he's dodging anyone. You make the weight, you wrestle. That's how it always works all year.... Don't recall anyone dogging NATO for going down a weight this year.
  11. I have not seen the video of this, but here's my 2 cents worth: Not coming back after injury time should only occur under the following circumstances- 1. The injured wrestler whether winning or losing, cannot finish the match, and the injury is a tournament ending injury (i.e. a legitimate inability to continue). 2. The injured wrestler is winning and was injured in a clearly illegal attempt to cause injury that might allow the losing wrestler to gain an advantage in the rest of the match. (I have never actually witnessed this happen) I think if you are losing and "win" by injury default, and are able to come back and wrestle later that day this is unsportsmanlike. Again, I have not seen the video in this case; this is just my general opinion on these circumstances. In the end, this is almost always the coaches call. I've always had athletes say they would continue if they could wrestle at all.
