  1. wait a second here......You are saying that Mason Parris only weighed 180 lbs last year ?
  2. Most of these wrestlers either won state or took runner up at some point in their career. Which basically means if you are a big pounder as a younging there is a good chance you're going to turn into a super mega pounder. 1927--Hwt--4--Robert Jones- Wabash could not find any information 1930--Hwt--2--Charles McDaniel- Bloomington South 1st 1940--Hwt--2--Dick Eggers- Hammond Clark 1st 2013--285--7--Shawn Streck- Merrillville 1st 2014--285--Q--Owen Perkins- Oak Hill 2013--220--Q--Kobe Woods- Penn 1st 2014--220--Q--Gunnar Larson- Avon 2nd 1996--215--Q--Ian Spearman- Southport 2002--215--Q--Christopher Kasten- Winamac 1st 1991--189--Q--Damon Hummel- Rochester 2nd 2010--189--Q--Matt Hurford- Culver Community 1st 2010--189--3--Mitch Sliga- Fishers 1st 2015--182--3--Mason Parris- Lawrenceburg 1st 2015--182--Q--Ryan Hammond- Whiteland
  3. Brimm wrestled in the 1995-1996 season as a senior, & I made the cutoff at 20 years @ the 1996-1997 season. I haven't forgotten about him, he just barely missed the cut for what I was looking at.
  4. All these guys might not be legends but they are all from southern indiana and did make an appearance in a state finals match at some point in the past 20 years. In case any of you out there are bored and need/wanted to make another sweet mini documentary here's some material. I'm sure each one of them probably has a gnarly story to go along with their accolades. EMD-Greg Schaefer, Dan Jankowski, Nick Miller, Allen Weinzapfel, Craig Weinzapfel, Craig Macke, Matt Conkling, Matt Coughlin, Sam Wildeman, Dustin Nosko, Nick Dewig, Alex Weinzapfel, John Sims, Nick Lee, Joe Lee Castle-Caleb Schmitt, Doug Welch, Chad Welch, Luke Welch Mt.Vernon-Chad Ruggeri, Alex White, Paul Konrath Vincennes-Taylor Vieck, Brady Richardson, John Labo Central-Anthony Williams, Brendan Kelley Princeton-Drake Stein, Josh Hardy Harrison-Aaron Lindenschmidt, Jared Williams Heritage Hills-Jon Goldsberry Reitz-Steve Riney Gibson Southern-DJ Radnovich
  5. Well most certainly not after getting dropped on his noggin by Quiroz.
  6. Last time Aaron Pico got dragged into an Indiana High School Legacy forum an Indiana High School legend did this to him. https://youtu.be/_MenyQ0y5E8
  7. I think you need to reread my first post again. Either that or you need to get new glasses. I stated 2 different opinions for what a "high school legacy" could entail. Therefore, in my logic I do agree 100% that it very well could include all of the outside tournaments (which in this case Nick Lee would HAVE to be mentioned) BUT if it only included your IHSAA (Indiana High School Athletic Association) stats then I don't think he would compare to those who have went undefeated and won 4 state titles like Lance Ellis, Alex Tsirtsis, & Chad Red (especially since Chad Red beat him). Nick Lee is an absolute animal, and he is one of the greatest wrestlers at that age I've ever seen. BUT some may define a "high school legacy" different. What if there was a kid who won multiple national tournaments through high school but never wrestled for a high school team, would they be considered to have defined a "high school legacy"? It's all perspective.
  8. I didn't know we were talking about what college coaches look at I thought the headline of the forum said something like High School legacy? If we were talking about what all tournaments and accolades Nick Lee has that college coaches look at then the list would never end because he's a great wrestler, a great student, and from what I hear an even better person, BUT this particular forum was High School legacy. What dictates a "high school legacy" ? Maybe something like high school stats ? Maybe something like high school stats w/ the inclusion of outside tournaments ? Idk, maybe someone out there knows the official judgement on what makes someone have the greatest high school legacy.
  9. Highschool as in IHSAA wrestling? Or highschool as in whatever wrestling he did in highschool? because if this argument is strictly based on IHSAA season stats then it's hard to throw him in there with Blake Mauer, Alex Tsirtsis, Angel, Jason Tsirtsis, & other company. BUT if the argument is about wrestling in various competitions while being in highschool on national even international stages then Nick Lee is probably the best highschool wrestler in Indiana history. Either which way you look at it he's still really good and is going to pound somebody at some level.
  10. If we give refs the authority to throw stalling calls around like coupons then we are going to see a lot more wrestlers underhooking and simply pushing the other opponent out of bounds just so they can possibly get a stalling call. In my mind this is by no means an agressive technique to taking down an opponent. Yet over again I see stalling calls hit on the other wrestler, who may even be trying to circle in bounds or shrug out, stil get hit with stalling all because one wrestler is a better "pusher". Also wrestling has evolved and wrestling from a knee is a tactic to gain lower and better position, if it was stalling then why does Jordan Burroughs do it directly before he blast doubles someone to the mat? Nearly every wrestler you see in the state finals now from 145 and lower are accustomed to wrestling from a knee agressively. At the same note though I do believe there are cases where stalling needs to be called more habitually. I am mainly stating that I don't like wrestling when they simply fish for a stalling call rather than earning one.
