  1. Not saying it should be done, but what ramifications it would bring if that scenario needed to play out.
  2. I know you guys have probably had better ideas to go about it as well. This will be a 40 years in the desert type movement. However we tell wrestlers to drill the same move and techniques over and over until they're unstoppable. I know my thoughts are tiring to some if not all on here. I just feel it necessary to fight for kids who go out and give their best even if they're not the best. Wrestling is mostly considered an individual sport to most, but not me. I love the strategy of bumping and such. The kid who is expected to give up 6 pts but keeps it 4 or 3 or even adds 3 or more to his team. I just feel that part of the sport needs not to be forgotten. Side note, besides the $ would wrestling and others be better to leave the IHSAA and solely form their own like the IHSWCA?
  3. The schedule for one and how to determine qualifying points. I'd be actually fine with eliminating qualifying points in all sports. I know not everyone is on board with eliminating though. Have qualifying rounds to qualify for team state similar to what IHSAA did with single class but do in the current class system. I'd propose 8 teams in each class for the state finals. 2 schools in each class for each region (NW, NE, SW, and SE). If enough schools then make 8 into 16. Just my thoughts though.

  5. NE Indiana has been dying off for some while. What do we really have to offer in this area. Many athletes left when the RV industry took a dive. The rest is small farming communities with older populations. Many people my age are living near Indy and few plan to come back to the area.
  6. When the competitors, coaches, administrators, and fans want to have a change then maybe they should at least listen and find arbitration points.
  7. I know all about the single class tournament and how they are stuck in their ways. However, I want to hear on why or what could possibly persuade them to make some kind of compromise. I want to see if the reasoning stays consistent or if it changes. If it changes, then they really don't want to better the sports they offer and thus need to be held accountable.
  8. Have had a forum from Proboard that has yet to be hacked, but I didn't use it for something with great numbers. My goal is not to replace Indiana Mat or others but to make it easier for others to find them in a central location. The staff here has a great site and manages it excellently. I know others are struggling but they do great jobs as well. Like I said, it's about promoting all the sports and athletes in our communities. As much as I've hated on the IHSAA, they have done one thing right by teaming with Special Olympics and such. I encourage everyone to look up the combined track and field page of the IHSAA.
  9. What about doing a proboard that's free?
  10. There was another member listed for football as well when I looked last night. Might as well get both done in one shot. Do you have the exact wording on the dual/super meet and invite requirements for qualifiers? I'd appreciate it.
  11. He's in great hands with Coach Myers and staff. They have both AC and Bellmont ties on that staff. Jay County has the size but needs to switch from a basketball driven to multi sport school. Coach Myers did a great job of building South Adams wrestling.
  12. Well obviously the IHSAA has little support for the sports it offers. They do an alright job hosting events, but not so great at marketing them imo. Their commercials/service announcements are nice but doesn't really sway me as much as interactions with other fans. Here, GID, and IBD plus others gives you a chance to meet aquaintances and meet new people to talk sports with. Plus it allows you to voice support and criticisms of aspects and be part of your community.
  13. No it's not really the mission of each individual site, but all of our athletes need to have the same acknowledgement. I'm all for making it all of the sites to support and encourage growth of numerous sports.
  14. Isn't the main goal to grow all sports in Indiana and America? That's why I'm proposing the idea to try and connect them. I try to support most of the teams from my alma mater as well as the "rival" schools. Remember it takes a community to raise a child as they say. Put on our proverbial AD hats.
  15. Probably so, but like others want to mention I am at least trying to help or make the sport better. The football representative will not be so lucky in my email to him and neither will Mr. Cox. Cox's words on his stance let me know I do not support his goals.
  16. Looks like the IHSAA had the website fixed. I'd like to email Mr. Faulkens and see what his thoughts are.
  17. Neither do I but it makes it handier. You can have 1 place to access multiple instead of going to numerous ones.
  18. If you have pull to expand the team dual state, I'd love to see and try and help. I've been out of the club and AAU circuit for awhile. I try to push for more multi sport athletes, but if kids only want to wrestle then I want to see them stay active in freestyle and greco roman.
  19. Which wouldn't change with my proposal. I'm saying have one site that has the links to each site and redirects to the one you click on.
  20. Not changing this but connecting them to here to help numbers on all. My thought is having one site that has all and clicking on wrestling brings you to this site. I'm not the most tech savvy so I'm not sure of the technical terms.
  21. Should we have a website like Yappi for Indiana? Put the link for mat under the wrestling heading. If you aren't familiar with Yappi, they have a website and the homepage has boys hs sports and girls high school sports. You click on one and the next page has all the sports listed. Click on one and the message board for that sport cones up. My thinking is to tie this, Gridiron digest, basketball digest, and others on one site and then clicking on the sport name directing you to each site. Then drive up numbers on all of them.
  22. Exactly my point on fix the schedule. The stupid qualifying point system needs to go. Nothing negative was intended to the IHSWCA, but IHSAA. I am hoping that the IHSWCA pushes the issue with the IHSAA. In order to change their (IHSAA) minds, you better make an $ sell. At least how you can make it profitable. I have voiced my displeasure with the IHSAA on Gridiron and other Indiana high school forums. Looked on their site buy haven't found and email addresses for IHSAA members to voice my disdain.
  23. People on here get way too defensive on issues. I pointed out my opinion on something else and had similar responses.
