  1. I applaud the coaches who have the ability to set the weight classes at the beginning of the season and stick to it. I can understand when injury or illness causes a wrestler to trade classes if available, my son got "lucky" and was able to do so when injured. I think there is a big difference in concern for a child's health and just plain dodging. If one dodges to avoid a tough opponent did they really become the best? I guess that all depends on if a patch is more important than hard work and pride. Karma has a way of setting things straight in life and sometimes the boys get humbled...as do coaches who make the decisions or allow them. That said, tomorrow should be fun! Here's a mom's input on winners...you boys can't have all the fun 106 113 120 126 Franklin-NW. Cunningham-FC LaHue- CO. Young-MA Bullock-BC. Ely-BC. Brown-FC. Haynes-CH Lewis-JC. Speakler-CN. 2. My apologies if I've started a war. Matthew told a kid on our team his arm was fractured and he could not wrestle this weekend. Apparantly there may only be a hairline and no decision was made. Not sure why but I wasn't trying to dtart trouble...just giving a head's up
  3. Matthew Applegate won't be wrestling this weekend. He and Ezra were practicing today and he got slammed. His arm is broken.
  4. No, I was talking about the summer predictions for the "season" sorry for the confusion.
  5. We did miss it because we can't afford to go to everything...we pick and choose. I think the "stud lists" are a little unnecessary when the only ones ever mentioned are those who go to everything. Sometimes there are dark horses that only go to few events and they wind up surprising everyone. It's all good though, there were only maybe two kids per weight class when the person asked which is why I said hard to perdict when you didn't even know who was coming yet...may have been a little different with the other one, I don't really know, but trying to make people feel stupid like they are out of touch is a little rude (especially for an administrator) but thanks for putting me in my place : )
  6. When it comes to events done on trackwrestling most people wait until the last minute to sign up and watch who goes where, and make weight according to whom they want to wrestle/want to ditch. Hard to make a "stud list" when one doesn't know who is going until the last minute. And it isn't a "highschool" event, it is AAU/ISWA wrestling so beyond insurance purposes it is not school affiliated in the least other than where the kid wrestles out of...which can be through a school OR club. We can't wait....my boy is super pumped for this coming weekend for sure.
  7. Haven't been here in a while and wanted to take a peek at all the fuss you fellas are making for this year. First, Antonio Gaddi is NOT a starting Quarterback for Charlestown...he is a cornerback and may not even wrestle this year and IF he does he will be one of the bigger guys. Second, Austin "Tiny" Kopp would not have to wrestle up if he were still tiny because Mason has never come close to beating him in practice...but either way he was about 160 this summer and grew several inches and is not so "Tiny" anymore. I also saw Mr. Lynch's "summer picks" and you left out quite a few more realistic picks. Where was Ezra Paden? Bailey LaHue was huge over the summer and grew as well so he may not make it down to what you had him listed for this coming year. You did not mention Luke Woods at all and he beat Mason Kaufer several times, so I'm not sure what you based your picks off of, but they seemed a little off to this momma who's watched these boys grow up over the past nine years. Charlestown has three guys who have worked their tails off this summer, one of which did not get to wrestle much last year as he broke his hand the first week of practice and then contracted mono. I always get a kick out of the pot that gets stirred each year, but this year rather took the cake for me. Half the state's top guys weren't even considered...if one thinks they've made good picks without one mention of Perry Meridian or more than a couple of Mater Dei guys then I think something is WAY off.
