  1. Lovejoy was sick recovered from one illness and caught the flu thats why he drooped out . Dont worry he will be back next year but for now his Bishop Luers teammate EVERETT GREEN is moving up the rankings fast and ready to shock the coliseum tommorrow in the 195lb weight class . Refs almost doomed him last week calling a stalling in the final with 2 seconds on the clock and sent the match to overtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont worry EVERETT hit a blast double in overtime to end it. and he is coming out attacking tommorrow and wont leave nothing in the refs hands ..........Listen for his name tommorrow and when you hear it pay attention Lets go EVERETT GREEN make ft wayne proud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Everett Green a senior from Bishop Luers and whoever he faces...... got screwed last yr at regionals and has had a chip on his shoulder all year. .......Football 4 time state champ has only been in wrestling for 3 and a half years watch out though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. are there any individual results for this meet available
  4. I see one thing that everyone can seem to agree on is that stalling is a very difficult call to make or not make . So it makes sense that most refs would rather just let the kids on the mat settle it thats why they dont call lots of stalling penalties .Which in my experience over 20yrs ,95% of the refs do a good job of doing that. You 5% out there this isnt about you and how smart or different or experienced you are. As someone said earlier the best refs go unnoticed . And the 2 refs I noticed this year were go figure THE WORST REFS I HAVE SEEN THIS YEAR when in doubt swallow your whistle and let the 2 kids decide the result thats all im saying
  5. Thanks GURU I couldnt have said it any better go figure the only 2 refs I saw all year that sucked were definitely over 50 years old so your point should be read and taken to heart unless of course they know everything already
  6. Randal look forward to seeing you ,then again if you are the 1 referee that I have been talking about all along I would rather see you at the grocery store than on any mat in Indiana sorry
  7. Jim true as in any sport when you are in the stands you never miss a call. And I have seen many missed calls they happen in all sports I believe. But to that point the situation I am talking about was extreme no one in the bldg including scorekeepers, fans and coaches could figure out this one refs calls funny how the other 4 refs there were not having these problems match after match after match. And as for the mtgs when I become licensed I will be at everyone I can because if your not trying to get better your getting worse......................And great posts by the guru Keep that in mind saturday these boys work so hard try not to be the deciding factor of a match unless it is absolutely necessary
  8. great comments guys so to sum this up for the refs STAY CONSISTENT even if you are consistently a bad referee at least your consistent, and you will be known for being consistenly bad and can be looked out for and coached so kids arent losing matches due to your terrible calls they are losing because the other guy beat them
  9. sorry my bad its Randal well either way my name is Nate Burks and Im sure I will pass the test just need to brush up on my stalling calls
  10. My real name is Nate Burks and I have to pass the test first ralph . Would love to watch you also, did you work SAC or the carroll sectional this yr because if so that means there is a one in five chance you are who I am talking about
  11. wow we finally got a response from a referee sounds like we ruffled his feathers.....wasnt trying too and the stalling calls you are mentioning are extreme and definitely stalling my 2yr old daughter could call those. Like I said in a previous post I am taking the test(it isnt the bar exam nor is it rocket science) and hope to join you and your fellow zebras on the mat real soon .All I was saying is if Im at a tournament and there are 4 officials there and 1 calls at least 25 stalling calls and the other 3 guys combined call 15 it makes you wonder ???????. These posts as far as I can see are for a select few zebras who lare lazy and dont get in good position thats what people are seeing and saying. but to call stallings for every little thing is absurd this is a war two kids trying to impose their will on each other and telling them to keep action going is not coaching and stalemates are never called in the situations im referring to its stalling called over and over again where guys are getting more stalling pts than they even score legitimately . Hey love all the good refs and hopefully you are one of them but a zebra without stripes is merely a jack***
  12. Guru I think you have to it 100% right there are certain refs that dont get in good position or just use the stalling call so they dont have to get in good position . This all could be avoided by talking to the wrestlers to keep action or to call a stalemate but instead they are lazy and just call stalling. This is ruining so many good matches I have seen this year and is happening more than ever ...... Lazy refs RETIRE!!!!!!!!!
  13. panther 83 I must have been at the same sectional I saw a lot of that also. It is a huge travesty it punishes the kids who are in top condition due to lots of CONDITIONING.
  14. sorry to all the good refs out there we appreciate your hard work and dedication. This was only sent out to those select few who need to make tons of calls so everyone knows how smart they are and how they see things no one else sees. Let the kids decide the match stalling is part of the sport unfortunately but it is fairly easy to see by all of us who have wrestled and even by some who havent
  15. Jimtown 138 I agree with you also after watching the SAC tournament and seeing one ref call a zillion stalling penalties with no consistency( he couldnt get thru 1 period without consulting with the scorers table about what the heck he was calling) I registered to take the test to become a licensed official
  16. walter you seemed to hit the nail on the head. I have been around wrestling for almost 20 yrs and never seen so many matches decided by the referees and the desire to be noticed or be different..........Sad let the kids decide the match not the refs that is the true sign of poor officiating
