  1. The big surprise of the weekend was Mater Dei reserve Brody Baumann at 113 knocking off the #1 seed and Michigan State Placer by fall, pinning another Michigan SQ, then beating Brownsburg's KT Nelson to make it an all-Mater Dei Final. (Which was forfeited to Cole Ross). Question is, would the rankers consider adding him to the Top 10 Freshmen list even though he will likely wrestle very little varsity? I think going into today he had one or two varsity matches. Eli Dickens finished 4th, but beat Michigan D3 State Champ, lost 3-2 to Michigan D2 State Champ and lost 6-4 to Michigan's D2 State Runner up in a loaded 152 field. There were many other solid wins by both MD and Brownsburg wrestlers over State Placers and Qualifiers. All chronicled in the separate Grappler Gold thread. It was a great day for the IN teams.
  2. Final Team Scores Mater Dei 179.5 (guess TW was slow updating earlier) Mason, OH 160.0 Brownsburg 159.5 Davison MI 146.5 It was a great day for Indiana schools against some top talent from Michigan and Ohio. Brownsburg did not have Kysen Montgomery or Drew Kreitzer today which held them back some. We would have no doubt had a 1-2 finish. For those asking how certain guys did, scroll back through the thread. The info on every MD and BB wrestler is right here.
  3. @220 BB's Lawson Aiken with Championship comeback over Jacob Jones, Clarkston MI. Down most of the match, Aiken closed to within one at 9-8 and got the TD and a fall with approx :30 left. Nice win for Aiken. @220 MD's Joe Crown DNP @285 BB's Dorian Keys with the win by fall over Colby Ford, Brighton MI. Keys finished in 3rd Place for the Bulldogs. @285 MD's Matthew Woodruff DNP
  4. @152 MD's Eli Dickens drops a 6-4 dec. to #2 seed and State Runner Up Caleb Fish, Eaton Rapids, MI to finish in 4th Place. @152 BB's Jacob Cookerly DNP @160 BB's Peyton Asbury drops a 3-1 dec. to Dane Donabedian, Brighton MI to finish in 4th Place @160 MD's Gabe Sollars falls 5-3 SV1 to Omari Embree, Warren Woods Tower, MI to finish in 6th Place @170 MD's Macartney Parkinson with a solid 3-0 win over D1 #2 ranked and State 3rd Placer Jay Nivison to take 3rd Place. @170 BB's Thierry Jean-Baptiste takes 5th Place with a 6-4 dec. over Harley Berne, Brighton MI. @182 BB's Greg Glover comes up short dropping a 4-2 dec. to Chandler Murton, DeWitt MI to finish in 4th Place. @182 MD's Jacob Pierson got a late TD and 3 back points to tie the match at 7, but Danny Parrish, Eaton Rapids MI, sqeeezed out of trouble and landed a reverse with about :15 left to secure a 9-7 win. Pierson finishes in 6th Place for the Wildcats. @195 MD's John McGrew and BB's Cody Edmonds square off for 5th Place. They faced each other in the quarterfinals with Edmonds coming away with a 3-2 win. McGrew takes it this time 4-2 in another tight match. McGrew finished 5th and Edmonds 6th. Mater Dei finished with 177.5 points and holds a 17.5 point lead over Mason OH. Brownsburg is in 3rd with 149.5 points still with two wrestlers left.
  5. They're probably dumb nough to not know they've been allowing it to be viewed all day for free. If I paid for the archived video and all of the finals were frozen and unwatchable, I'd be pissed!
  6. More on the finals.... @132 BB's Drake Campbell loses by fall to Kaleob Whitford , St; John's MI and finishes as the runner up in 2nd Place. Whitford finished 3rd at State last year. @132 MD's Clay Egli gave up a late TD and a TD in SV to drop a 7-5 dec. to Tyler Swiderski Dundee MI. Swiderski was a State Finalist last year. @138 MD's Blaine Mayer wins by fall over Ethan Polick, Clarkston MI to take 7th Place. Mayer eliminated BB's Nick Ciccarelli in the previous round. @145 MD's Matt Lee utilizes a takedown clinic to take home the Title with a 21-6 TF win over Conor Donahue, Clarkston MI. @145 BB's Griffin Ison finishes in 6th Place after Inj Def
  7. I couldn't figure out how to contact them so I just tweeted mean things at their Twitter account!
  8. More finals results..... @120 Blake Boarman on a tear at the moment. Up 19-7 after the first period. Not sure I recall seeing that many points scored in the first period. Boarman cruises to the Championship with a 24-9 TF win over Ashton Anderson of Clarkston MI. @120 BB's Braden Haines loses a major dec. 13-4 to Steven Garty Davison MI and finishes in 6th Place. @126 MD's Kane Egli drops a 4-1 dec. to Cole Weigers Clarkston MI and finishes in 6th Place @126 BB's Evan Lawhead pulls out a nice 4-3 dec. over Michael Hazelton Lanse Creuse MI for 7th Place.
  9. I didn't figure I was the only one. Good situation for the finals, with no working camera
  10. On to the finals.... Am I the only one that is seeing a frozen camera on Mat 8 for the last 30 minutes at least? Of course, the Finals are on Mat 8, so unless I am the only one staring at some referees butt, the video stream is a flop with no Finals. @106 MD's Alec Freeman dominates D2 #2 ranked Jacob Byra of St' John's MI 9-3 for 3rd Place @106 BB's Logan Miller with a 5-3 dec. over Kyle White Davison MI nets him 5th Place @113 MD's Cole Ross takes 1st Place @113 MD reserve Brody Baumann takes 2nd Place FF to Ross to ensure MD gets the full points available @113 BB's KT Nelson loses by fall to Mason OH's Dominic DiTullio in the first period. Nelson finishes in 4th Place.
  11. We get how scoring works. At the end of the day, Baumann is wearing a Mater Dei singlet and winning matches. He'll wrestle his teammate in the finals, so not a bad day for a kid who some would say doesn't matter.
  12. @170 Macartney Parkinson MD, dropped a 3-2 dec to nationally ranked River Shettler in the semifinal. Came back with a fall in the consolation and will wrestle for 3rd. Also @170 Thierry Jean-Baptist dropped a SV 5-3 dec to State runner-up Jay Nivison. Jean-Baptist had a 3-1 lead and gave up a late TD in the 3rd (:15 ish) and then another in SV. Gave Nivison all he wanted. @182 BB's Greg Glover dec MD's Jacob Pierson 3-1. Glover will wrestle for 3rd, Pierson for 5th. @195 Both John McGrew MD and Cody Edmonds BB lost in the consolation and will face each other in the 5th/6th Place match. @220 Lawson Aiken BB is sitting pretty waiting to wrestle in the finals. MD's Joe Crowe started strong, out to a 4-0 lead but couldn't hold it and lost by fall in the 3rd Period. Crowe gives up almost 30 lbs and will not place. Just difficult for him to match up that far down in weight. It was a game effort until he ran out of steam. @285 BB's Keys advanced with a fall and will wrestle for 3rd. MD's Matthew Woodruff lost by fall and will not place. Assuming TW has the team scores fully updated, the top 4 are as follows: Mater Dei 153.5 Brownsburg 144.5 Mason OH 142.0 Davison MI 135.5
  13. Made it back... looks like I missed some good matches. Dickens with an 8-4 dec over State Champ Soney Buell of Dundee. He'll wrestle for 3rd. @160 Peyton Asbury vs. Gabe Sollars in a BB vs. MD match, up now -- Couldn't see it as Mat 8's camera has been frozen for awhile, but Asbury won by fall. Sollars had a 2-1 lead. Not sure what happened between there and the fall. Asbury will wrestle for 3rd and Sollars for 5th.
  14. Mater Dei @120 Blake Boarman wins by fall. @126 Kane Egli dops a 14-5 dec to returning State Champ Andrew Chambal @132 Clay Egli drops a 6-5 dec to the #2 seed @138 Blain Mayer drops a 5-3 dec to the #4 seed Brownsburg @120 Braden Haines loses by TF in the quarters @126 Evan Lawhead drops a 3-1 dec to the #3 seed @132 Drake Campbell wins by fall @138 Nick Ciccarelli wins 4-0 in the consolation round Gotta run for a little bit. Will update more in about an hour.
  15. True, but a win is a win, whether or not it counts on the scoreboard. Especially when he beats the #1 seed and state placer. His win actually sets up a semifinal match against Brownsburg's KT Nelson. I believe the two have wrestled a few times over the years. I know each has at least one win against the other.
  16. Quick note: Live video is free for this event on TW. Archived video costs $14.95.
  17. Slight correction... with Baumann and Ross wrestling at 113, it is all 15, not 14
  18. Nice that MD can enter two in the same class. Baumann takes :26 to get a fall in the quarterfinal. Cole Ross wins 4-0 to give Mater Dei two in the semifinals at 113, on opposite sides of the bracket. @106 Alec Freeman wins by fall in the quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal match against nationally ranked Casey Swiderski. Freeman beat Swiderski in the 2017 Grappler Fall Classic at 100 lbs. Brownsburg's 106 Logan Miller goes down by fall to #4 seed Jacob Brya of St. John's. @113 KT Nelson handles the $5 seed 10-4 to move to the semifinals.
  19. Got a message that Mem lost to Reitz 42-33..... which is right?
  20. All I have gotten is Memorial beat Harrison (Mem. won 10, Harrison 4, two of which were forfeits) and Memorial beat North 42-36.
  21. Pre-Seeds announced https://www.michigangrappler.com/news_article/show/977470 Still thrown by Jacob Pierson for MD at 182. Any MD guys have info? Has he wrestled this year? Every time I've seen anything it has been Lannert. Top Seeds from Indiana: 120 Blake Boarman 132 Drake Campbell 145 Matt Lee 220 Lawson Aiken
  22. Mooresville Tourney not on Track Wrestling?
  23. Nick Lee with an impressive 1st Period Fall over Arizona State's Cory Crooks. Lee with a quick TD, let him up, another TD with two backs.... then reset and got the turn with arm bar and chicken wing and got the stick.
