  1. I can't believe it is this quiet. There is usually more team spirit during this time. You need to promote your team. Who did practice today? Who doesn't ( if any) practice tomorrow. Top 2 teams in Jenn Co: Greensburg, Jenns Top2 teams in Jeff: Floyd and Jeff Does Madison, East, North, or Albany Wiin?
  2. Tskin - I had almost forgot about that night. Thank you so much for reminding me. Yes, I won the dance contest but I lost my dignity at the same time. Whoosier Daddy would have been proud of his son that night. Coach Ferguson tells me every year at semi state that it was money well spent. Any time we take 465West we honor a moment of silence in remembrance of that "classy" night. I'm sure all the donations helped that young lady pay her college tuition that year. My wife and coach Binkley failed to see the humor of the situation. I told them had to honor the code of the school yard and get on that stage. It went down hill from there. I no longer allow to go to "coaches clinics". Coach Struck would not have approved and he will allow no such contest on Saturday. I will have to keep my title, it was well earned! Go Jeff Regionals!
  3. If the coaches are going to have a dance off then my $$ is on Coach Burris. I've seen him do dance moves that are illegal in 52 states. As far as the wrestling goes, Jennings results are hard to find and brackets aren't on track...so here is what I have 106: Franklin and Kaufer in finals again. Franklin adds regional title to his family's resume. Both have a tough semistate draw. 113: Cunningham and Ely in finals. Cunningham wins that one and first round in Evansville and then... Who knows 120: Bailey beats brown again in finals. Wins semistate and should have his eye on a state title. We are all rooting for you after this weekend. Do your homework and be ready for Red. 126: Young ruffs everyone up and wins here. Jeff reg champ is the only one with a chance to win first one in this weight class at Evansvillle. 132: Most anticipated match. Nobblitt and Ward are capable of placing in top 8. Both should have goal of being a state champ. Upsets in Evansville has made this wide open. Regardless of 1st or 2nd both will have a good shot of punching their ticket and hopefully placing. Nobblitt has beat WArd 2x in close matches...can he win another close one? No pressure 138: Herrin and Tingle in finals. Case 3rd. Paden moved up to dodge Ward and it didn't work out. He should have stuck to the weight class he had wrestled the entire year. I don't know if any of these guys can get through next week but all 4 are solid wrestlers. 145: Ruddick, Castleberry, and Spray are all close. The winner will have best draw and a small (very small) chance of making it through ticket round next week. 152: if Troutman wants to place then he will need to dominate field again this weekend. Jones is big and strong but he better not over look Lynch in the semis. Lynch is crazy good on his feet, Jones will want to keep it on the mat with him. 160: Partee and Franklin are good. I hope they both punch their ticket to state. Very different body types and wrestling styles. I expect an exciting match where Partee gets out to early lead and Franklin battles back during 3rd. (Rocky vs Apollo). As my 5yr old says..."I could be epic" 170: Fisher and Herron arethe favorites. Jennings and Madison right behind. I think winner of this one has a good chance of getting to state. Runner up will pray for the draw. 182: A toss up. I would give the nod to the Jennings county sectionals here. All will have a tough road next weekend. 195: Sandlin is champ and hopefully is the cubs 2nd state qualifier this year. If Tskin and BBB are in good enough with the WrestlingGods then maybe they will have 2 placers. 220: Caster, Hurley, and Neisus are all solid. Caster is champ and Hurley second? All three give their Evansville opponents a run for their money. HWT:' Jolley-Little and the rest just hope to fall on top. Struck has had a good run with hwts, Gavin keeps the streak going and places this year. Gavin Jolley Little (an ironic name for a heavy weight) Most ind champs: East, Floyd, and Madison. With placing to 5th I have now clue on team champ. Prob each of top 3 from each sectional has a chance. I think we have a potential state champ at 120. Qualifiers or Place finishers hopefully at 113, 132, 145, 152, 160, 170, 195, 220, and Hwt. Good luck to all and hopefully donniebaker gets the breathalyzer takin off of his computer so he can give us some insight.
  4. The best dance will be the tango between Nobblit (little beast from the East) and Ward. Or Fishers and Herron. Don't worry BBB, you will squeak someone though...nobody puts baby in the corner.
  5. Against New Albany more than just the Jeff 132 pounder dropped a weight class. With all these post about the weight management questions hopefully the paperwork is inline. Good thing the pioneers got a new caption at the helm. Cookie might ask to see the proof. So now does Jeff pull an BNL and get higher seeds because no common opponents? They may be the new favorites. Where's CRed when you need him? I personally miss him and HighC. Good conversation on the WWW. I'm sure all teams in the sectionals are up to the challenge to upset the new favorite. The bigger they are, the harder they FALL Good luck to all...
  6. Possibly a good move by Paden. Goes from 2nd or 3rd at 32 in sectionals and to possibly not making it out of regionals with Nobblitt and Madison in the mix. He's got a good chance of being sectional champ at 38 and may be able to hang with Herrin from Jennings at regionals. I also heard from a reliable source Troutman is having trouble getting a release statement from his Gyno Dr. DonnieBaker said he's now wearing more than an elbow pad. That's not exactly how he put it, I had to clean it up a bit. Champs: FC - 5 CC - 3 NA - 2 CH - 2 NW - 1 Jeff - 1 Team champ determined by 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths
  7. At 152...close match between Troutman and Lynch in semis. It was a good match. BNL, I hope you're proud of your actions to get your boy seeded #1 and then lose first round. I feel sorry for your wrestlers. Seeding correctly would have brought more honor. No excuses, the outcome didn't justify the means ( historical quote). Again, I've been in plenty of seeding meeting where coaches concede to wrestlers having worst % but getting higher seeds. Integrity-bnl look up definition. I'm glad it will be another 8yrs before the HHC will have to return. Maybe you should look into a new conference where the bs you pull is tolerated. Good luck to the rest of the field...what's the team score after semis? And just for bbb and tskin....the Indiana beach state wrestling state championships need to be extended to peewee and up. I'm 4-0 right now in south Florida... I've whipped 3cabana boys!
  8. Just informed that BNL #1 seed lost first round at 152. Is any one shocked? No disrespect to the boy I'm sure he wrestled his hardest. But the BNL coaches or tournament director should be ashamed. Those types of tactices in a seeding meet are not right and they cheated someone out of being in the finals. BNL just tarnished their program. The Starz Wrestlers deserve better roll models. I have sat in many Mater Dei holiday classic seeding meetings. I have seen Schafer, Hassman, Floyd, New Albany, Union County, etc coaches say..."we aren't that seed even though our records put us there. That is how it is suppose to work. Hopefully BNL reflects on their actions and next time are a little more ethical. Got luck to all HHC wrestlers in the rest of the tournament. Being around all this sand reminds me of Indiana's Beach Wrestling State Championships in Madison over the summer. Can't wait for my boys to win that tourney! Keep it up bbb
  9. I'm not in the Hoosier state this weekend. Soaking up some of South Florida's solar radiation and watching my wife admire all the cabana boys. I'm going to need some semifinal results and the final results. Troutman got no love and the tournament director must had ignored his creditials. So with him being 2nd seed and Lynch 3rd. The finals of 152 will occur in semis. I doubt #1BNL even makes the finals. At 132 Ward-Noblett will be a battle and they meet again in Regional finals and hopefully somewhere at Fords Arena in E-ville at semi-state. Jeff's and Castles 132 regionals 1-2 punch are solid and then you got Broukal from BS. One of those 5 won't make it. 145 Ruddick and Castleberry will be a battle also. It is going to be tough for Ruddick to when again today and then again at Regionals. Most important win will be at regionals. At 170 Fisher and Herron. Is Fisher leading that series 4x to none? My prediction is Floyd with most in finals and maybe most champs. But team title will be decided with most 3rds and 5ths. Top 4 teams could finish in any order: Jennings, East, Madison, and Floyd. It should be a competitive day of wrastlin with a nail bitter for team champ. Hopefully bbb can keep Donnie Baker in line!
  10. At Old Cap Classic - Ward over Todrank 10-7. Todrank is slick but Ward just as tough and was able to get near fall. All weights at E-ville are solid but 132 may be the deepest with all 8 having close matches. Jourdan and Broukal at top but the ticket round will be a nail bitter in all four brackets. Jourdan way under rated in state rankings.
  11. I think donniebaker will have more "insight" on cow tipping then the wrestling going on. I know they wrestle in 2 pools and then cross bracket for places. Can someone post the top 4 seeds. And what time wrestling starts.
  12. Wrestleman you're right. It was Korfhage that Ward beat. 9-7. So there will be a tough rematch today during last round.
  13. Ward beat Haddad at MD last week. Didn't realize Haddad wasn't in lineup yesterday.
  14. Prepare to win - that's a psuedofeeling. As long as their bellys touch they are unstoppable. But I'm sure you keep them grounded. Noblitt beats ward, ward beats X, and X beats Noblitt. What a twisted web they weave. Conference will be good
  15. I think I saw Ruddick win over Castleberry (145) Floyd over Jennings 37-36...I think X and East still battling. Probably the 2 most solid teams there from top to bottom. This round has East and Floyd. Big matches at 132 and 170. Possible regional final matches at these weights. Fisher, Herron, Ward, and Noblitt are tough kids for anyone's semi state bracket. On a side note, I saw BBB and DB lock eyes from across the gym. They ran toward each other in slow motion. TSkin might have gotten his feelings hurt. But with the 3 of them together it looked like a Joe Dirt Family Reunion.
  16. I heard the HHC duals will be tomorrow and Saturday all at Jeff. No BNL. They must have better competition scheduled. Or they want to enter conference with no common opponent and good records. Providence, Manual (ky), and StX added. 5-6 rounds Friday and 3-4 rounds on Saturday. If anyone knows the matches ups and times please share them. I'm looking foward to seeing East, Jennings, Floyd, and Madison match ups. I know X has a tough team too and I may cheer them on at times, only because Coach Issacs blood has a green/gold tint to it. He wouldn't have been a 4x in Ky if he didn't have the middle school coaches that he did. HHC team champ is East (IMO) Close duals with Floyd and Jennings. X goes undefeated. And the match of the tournament is Noblitt vs Ward. They will meet each other in conference and regional finals. Hopefully they see each other at semi state and state too. Both top notch wrestlers who like to bring it.
  17. You better hope they decide not to crash. Have you not seen BraveHeart?
  18. Donniebaker - what rock did you crawl out from under? Better watch poking that stick at BBB, have you ever seen a grizzly bear fight. A few years ago New Albany wasn't allowed to wrestle at the Jeff Classic on a Friday Night after school was cancelled that day. Muncie Southside and MD traveled much larger distances and wrestled. Not looking good at this point. My suggestion is that all schools head to Jeff now. Battle Royal on Saturday. Ladder and Tables Match in the hospitality room. Footlong Sub on top of ladder. If it is truly snowed out, it will be a shame. A very competive field this year. Jennings, Madison, East, Floyd, and Jeff all field solid teams this year. Ward vs Noblett is worth price of admission alone, and if the Madison 126 from last year is in there too then watch out. No love between those three. I love the winter weather, but much rather see the wrastlin.
  19. I'm disappointed in the lack of chatter here. I don't know much about Col North or Greensburg but this is what I got. 106: TK, Jones, Speaker. TK only one going to State 113: Jasi, Ely, Brown. Can Jasi punch his ticket or not. 120: Good chance that it is top 4 from Jeff. Lahue and Whitley in finals again. Winner has a good chance make it out next week. 126: Most exciting and deepest weight class with the exception of maybe hwt. Multiple Greco and freestyle state champs and place finishers. All I can say is that winner could get bad draw if they get #2from Castle. I think our top three beats bloom and moors champs. 132: Gilbert, and winner between Popp and Herrin. Can Gilbert win ticket round? 138: Troutman, and whoever wins between Spray and Meenach. Troutman has beaten two top 10s in less than a minute. That's no fluke. Not taking anything away from other two, but Troutman on different level. Only losing to Forte 4-2 when he got knocked out and Meenach couldn't beat him on one leg. Troutman is looking for some hardware this year. 145: Wyatt, Emily, and Castleberry. NA sophomore has been wrestling all 3 styles since grade school and he is starting to get the feel. 152: Stillinger, Partee, Meldrum. Champ has a chance to punch his ticket. 160: Herron, Wilson, Franklin. Winner will have to wrestle like superman to make it to state. 171: Lee helped his cause by winning in OT during sectionals. Fisher, Lee, Bagwell 182: All JC sectional. Randell helped them out by dislocating his shoulder twice in two weeks. 195: All JC sectionals. Cake walk for the four. Only question is if bbb boy can get a gas tank to win the ticket round. Maybe a #hipsquad shirt would help. 220: the Gentle Giant, Castetter, Woods. Can C-clamp lock up the ticket round match? HWT: would say all JC sectional with exception of little-jolly. But NA new addition throws a monkey wrench into the mix. Burres has his man ready for the upset and gets to ss. These are just for my opinion. I hope I see my daddy on Saturday. Next week I will route for the entire HHC and Jeff Regionals. Something I tell my little kids: don't get lifted, don't let arm get behind your back, and most of all don't go to your back, good luck to all!
  20. Jeff sectional is a long way away. HHC duals aka Jeff regionals are right around corner. All kinds of possibilities. I see some bumping around to get some wins. No particular order Top teams: CE, J, FC, JC 106: it's time to make a name for yourself 112: Kennedy...unless you see him at 120 120: will be interesting: Peavler, Whitley, and Engleking, Weekly 126: Jamison,Ward, and hollowager 132: Marler, lynch, Gilbert, Engleking 138: Jeff kid and Castleberry, and that freshman meatrack from JC 145: ? 152: ? 160: Herron and I'm am sure a few others 170: 182: 195: 220: HWT: little Jolly and who ever else falls on top I know I am leaving many out. I predict lots of close matches. Team winner comes down to which coach plays best chess match. Now throw little Lahue in at 26 at regionals and you have the toughest weight class (126) ... IMO Fill in where I forgot...I was just tired of thinking of Jeff sectionals when this is just right around corner.
  21. Can u hear the crickets? I would like to say that no coach recruited these boys. Ask the boys or their parents themselves (if u are man enough). theses family made a perfectly legal decision on their own for different reasons. I bet they were enrolled in their new school before coaches even knew. I dont think u should be on here saying they were receuited when u know nothing about the situation. Onxe again someone has tarnished the good program coach steuck has built. I bet he is peoud of u right now. Good luck Jeff sectional tomorrow. Dont leave anything in the wrastlin room.
  22. Whitley over lahue? That has to be the upset of the day. Maybe strengh of schedule (or lack of) hurt Bailey this year. Of his 30 wins, how many timeswas he tested (Shepard only?) Not takin anything away from the young man. He is an outstanding freshman wrestler. But Whitley has to wrestle : kenndy, popp, ward, and Marler every day. I think top 3 at 126 are top 3 again next weekend. I saw where people picked Gregory at 138...doesnt look like he made the finals? I look for all of these boys to fair well next week againt rhe southridge winners. I see the potential for 6 state qualifiers from this sectionals , with only two of them graduating. Good luck to Jeff on Wednesday...dont wrestle ur reserves!
  23. CE wins over jc at 45 It was Jordans day. He looked good. He was winning when he got the pin.
