  1. Which Semi-State is Generally the Toughest?
  2. Herman is a huge guy, I remember watching him wrestle for IU and he would just throw around alot of the other heavyweights!
  3. Do you know how much it costs, and also how many fights there will be?
  4. Regardless of the spelling issue DNR still makes the message board entertaining because he posts what he believes to be true no matter who will take offense to it, and I applaud him for that!
  5. ??? Why does everyone try to discredit Duck? It seems as if everyone does not like him at all! I have looked through some of his post and when he makes predictions they aren't far off of what actually happens. And also everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, and I think that Duck just calls it as he see's it and isn't afraid to produce bold statements!
  6. There is no doubt that Carroll has a great wrestling program. Over the past few years they have really stepped it up. The Lefevers are amazing wrestlers but there are many more on the team as well. I think the match up between Carroll and Bellmont will be a very good one but I honestly cannot say Who I think will win. I would love to see Carroll pull it off and they have the ability to do it but Bellmont is returning a good line-up as well. Regardless of the outcome it will be a great match for everyone to watch!
  7. Wright is a great wrestler and and entertainer and is always fun to watch! Good Job!
  8. We played a game called "Snakes in the Grass" It is a game where the whole team except one lines up on the edge of the mat, with the lone wrestler in the middle of the amt on his knees. The wrestling team would then run across the mat trying to not get tackled by the wrestler on his knees. If the wrestler on his knees tackled another then the one who was tackled would also go on his knees and help out with the tackling. Then the wrestlers just keep running back and forth n waves till they all are on their knees except one and he is the winner!
  9. All I was doing was trying to defend Willis even though I have no connection to him, because I was there and saw the match and in this particular case it was not the athlete at all it was the coaches I was not referring to whether or not something was done wrong or with little integrity because I believe thath it was done wrong but Willis stepped onto the line ready to wrestle and his coaches did not allow it. Willis was ready to compete and i do not believe that he was taking the easy way out this time. And also I am willing ot admit when I have been proven wrong and you did provide a nice point about drug testing but that is also the problem with athletics. It has become so competitive that people will do anything in order to Win!
  10. I'm not trying to step on anyones toes because i can see both points of the argument however I would like to respond to 15 year old's being referred to as children. At age 15 i don't think that they are still children they are young adults, and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one of the great aspects of High School sports the fact that they help children to mature into respectful and successful adults. How are they going to mature if they are constantly sheltered criticism can be one of the best ways for a person to grow and improve on theyre actions. Just Imagine if Willis had been faking it although I do not think that he was then he would know that there were many people who disagree with it and it would probably prevent him from making the same mistake again. And on the other hand if he was seriously hurt then the boos simply reinforce the fact that in the sport of wrestling there are way too many overbearing parents who take it too seriously and are to hard on the athletes. Wrestling is supposed to help the young men grow up and mature but it seems as if it has caused some parents to act less mature than the young men themselves.
  11. I agree with hammer the best wrestler doesn't win the wrestler who wrestle the best wins. And it does not necessarily mean that MJJ has better throwing technique than Sliga has Throwing defense. There is such a thing as getting caught in something or the best wrestler not always winning look at what happened to Metcalf last year. He was the better wrestler but he was man-handled. And I am not taking anything away from MJJ he wrestled like a Champ and at the end of the day he was, but things such as strength and athleticism come into play and I was strictly referring to technique.
  12. Obviously gazoni can not read very well because i said that MJJ was not the best wrestler technically. There is nothing about that comment that is meant to offend him or anyone else. I believe that he was not the best wrestler but that he performed the best. And there is no point in throwing out the fact that he threw Sliga on his back and pinned him, because Atwood also pinned MJJ earlier on in the year. And throwing someone on their back does not mean that you have better techniques. The best wrestler does not win the wrestler who wrestles the best wins!
  13. There is absolutely no point in arguing whether or not Willis was actually hurt or if he or his coaches blew it out of proportion in order to receive the easier way into the finals, because he is the only one who knows the absolute truth and it is pointless to argue either side. However it is very hard to believe that that caliber of athlete would stoop low enough to take the easy road, and fake an injury. I doubt after that many years of training for that moment he sudden;y became weak and broke beneath the pressure. Also I highly doubt that that type of competitor would even cherish a win that was not hard a fought victory. It is very unfortunate for the other wrestler to have lost because of that, I hope that we all agree that it would have been better entertainment and better for the sport of wrestling as a whole if the two would have been able to finish the match because it would have been a good one, that is of course if Willis would have been able to wrestle but he obviously was not. Also I think that many people aren't even considering the many hours that he had off between matches in order to try and get himself ready for the finals. Who knows what sort of rehab he did during his off time. He has obviously worked extremely hard for this chance, and I doubt that he would have let any amount of pain from stopping him from competing in the state finals.
  14. Norton is a great wrestler as well as a classy one. I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not he planned to continue his career on the collegiate level and if he is where at?
  15. MJJ was not the best wrestler in the tournament and I would have ranked him as third, behind Atwood and Sliga, at Conseco in regards to being technically sound, however he wrestled the toughest that day by far. He wrestled to win and he believed in himself and thats al that it took to win. MJJ did an awesome job of wrestling his match and wrestling to win. With his performance over the weekend he was almost undoubtedly one of the most entertaining and fun wrestlers to watch.
