  1. M-vile 138 Round 1 Vasquez vs McHugh Winner versus Schurg
  2. First off, I want to congratulate Mr. Schaeffer on an excellent season and an excellent choice of school. I would also like to congratulate my good friends Coach O'Neill and Coach Baud. Secondly, I had the opportunity to coach along side these guys a few years back and in my opinion they do one heck of a job. Lucas participated with us at the Disney Duals as an incoming Freshman and he was a trooper. I'm not sure what his record for the trip was, but I was worried that he would get so discouraged from the butt whipping he received that he might not continue wrestling. It was definitely an eye opening experience for him. It is a true indicator of the type of competitor this young man truly is. Unfortunately, I wasn't there to watch him develop into the high caliber wrestler he has turned into but as a fan it was great to watch his development. Lucas you are a great young man and I can only hope my son has the same character traits that you have. Lastly, back to Coach O'Neill. For those that know him, he is one of the best guys in our great sport. Don't be fooled by his flannel jacket, he is one of Indiana's classiest guys. Congratulations on coaching under the lights and keep up the hardwork. Westfield High School should be very proud of their program.
  3. Rensselaer Central had a team withdraw from our tournament this weekend. If you are interested please contact Ken Hickman, Athletic Director at kenneth.hickman@rcsc.k12.in.us. The format is an 8 team, two pool tournament. Each team will get 5 matches.
  4. In my honest opinion, I think Coach O'Neill is one of Indiana's Finest Coaches. He is constantly improving their team schedule and seeking out tough competition. He takes kids that are average as freshman and by the end of their career they are wrestling at competitive levels. What I think is really impressive is that only recently have they started truly developing an elementary program in Westfield. They have a great Junior High program with Coach Mike Steele, but other than that I attribute most of their success to Coach O'Neill. Just like many of Indiana's coaches, he puts in countless hours impacting the lives of student athletes and being a positive role model.
  5. Coach O'Neill Get well soon. Maybe the surgery will improve your look. On a side note. I've had to opportunity to watch Coach O'Neill coach for a number of years and I firmly believe he is one of Indiana's finest. Every year he seems to get the most out of his wrestlers and every year his wrestlers perform beyond expectations. Coach I hope you get the opportunity to coach your wrestlers at NC SS, but if you don't I know that they will be ready. I know this isn't the discussion about the semi-state, but watch out for Brady White. It think he could shock people. As mentioned early, the Shamrocks tend to achieve beyond other people's expectations. Good luck Shamrock wrestlers. And continue the tradition that Coach O'Neill has created. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.
