How so when there was no control nor a 2 second swipe before tapping mat? Then there was no whistle for yet a few more seconds as both wrestlers and corners had no idea what was going on.

There do not have to be 2 swipes to call a fall. I will admit it was awkward as no one appeared to really know what happened.

Good point there... between the two, I think Schapker had a surprising weekend winning sectionals, and I don't think Johnson wrestled well last weekend on top of it. Johnson may take Alfano's spot now that I think about it.

    Also, #BringBackTheTights

Johnson and Alfano are in different weight classes. Sitzman will beat Alfano at 160.

    220: Martin (MD) over Hines

    285: Farmer over Vanover

    MD sends 13 to SS.

Match of the day: 138 final with Vanover and Williams.

    Outstanding Wrestler: John Purdy

I think you are pretty close here but I don't think Alfano advances to semi state at 160 let alone make the final. All 4 from Central at 160 to the Ford Center. At 182 I think you'll see Johnson or Schapker in the final.

Noah Schweizer, and yes, I remember him. He was beating guys like Trent Pruitt, Preston Mantel, and Forrest Glogouski in years they were downtown at State. He beat Glogouski in 2014 after he already got state runner-up and was about to become an All-American at Senior Nationals.

Schweizer was behind some kid named Nick Lee when Noah was a senior and Nick was a freshman.

I believe it was Brody Baumman or Cole Ross from Mater Dei that were JV their freshman year. MD had such a tough lineup in the lower weights it was almost uncrackable.

Alec Freeman was JV as a freshman as was Baumann. Freeman went on to place 3 times and was a runner up as a senior and Baumann a 2 time champion. That's tough.

Shoutout to Luke Hansen of Roncalli for becoming the newest 4x MD Holiday Classic champion!

You missed this one Cricket. It’s Lowery at 152

  7. Anybody have a box score of the MD vs. Merr. match?

I'll do the best I can.  Match started at 138 lbs.  Final score 43-22 MD.  I am uncertain of the names of most of Merr. wrestlers.

    138 MD by fall

    145 MD by fall

    152 MD by fall

    160 Merr by fall

170 Merr. dec. (may have been a major)

182 MD not sure think it may have been a tech

    195 MD by fall

    220 Merr. dec.

    285 MD dec.

106 MD dec. (Seng beats Garza 7-6)

    113 MD by fall

120 Merr. dec. (Garcia beats Goebel 12-7)

    126 MD dec. (10-4)

    132 Merr. by fall

That is the best I can do.
