How so when there was no control nor a 2 second swipe before tapping mat? Then there was no whistle for yet a few more seconds as both wrestlers and corners had no idea what was going on.
There do not have to be 2 swipes to call a fall. I will admit it was awkward as no one appeared to really know what happened.

Good point there... between the two, I think Schapker had a surprising weekend winning sectionals, and I don't think Johnson wrestled well last weekend on top of it. Johnson may take Alfano's spot now that I think about it.
Also, #BringBackTheTights
Johnson and Alfano are in different weight classes. Sitzman will beat Alfano at 160.

106: Henderson over Byrd
113: Baumann over Wheeler
120: Schaefer over Ramsey
126: Seng over Traylor
132: Fortune over Horning
138: Vanover over Williams
145: Robards over Smith
152: May over Chew
160: Kamper over Alfano
170: Turner over Goldsberry
182: Schaefer over Adamson
195: Purdy over Hart
220: Martin (MD) over Hines
285: Farmer over Vanover
MD sends 13 to SS.
Match of the day: 138 final with Vanover and Williams.
Outstanding Wrestler: John Purdy
I think you are pretty close here but I don't think Alfano advances to semi state at 160 let alone make the final. All 4 from Central at 160 to the Ford Center. At 182 I think you'll see Johnson or Schapker in the final.

Maybe we could divide the total number of teams that have wrestling programs by 2, have that number of classes then wrestle a weeknight dual to determine the state champion for each respective class. Would be way better. We could have so many more state champions and everyone else is a runner up.
I'm kidding of course.

Noah Schweizer, and yes, I remember him. He was beating guys like Trent Pruitt, Preston Mantel, and Forrest Glogouski in years they were downtown at State. He beat Glogouski in 2014 after he already got state runner-up and was about to become an All-American at Senior Nationals.
Schweizer was behind some kid named Nick Lee when Noah was a senior and Nick was a freshman.

I believe it was Brody Baumman or Cole Ross from Mater Dei that were JV their freshman year. MD had such a tough lineup in the lower weights it was almost uncrackable.
Alec Freeman was JV as a freshman as was Baumann. Freeman went on to place 3 times and was a runner up as a senior and Baumann a 2 time champion. That's tough.

I'll have what he's having.

Anybody have a box score of the MD vs. Merr. match?
I'll do the best I can. Match started at 138 lbs. Final score 43-22 MD. I am uncertain of the names of most of Merr. wrestlers.
138 MD by fall
145 MD by fall
152 MD by fall
160 Merr by fall
170 Merr. dec. (may have been a major)
182 MD not sure think it may have been a tech
195 MD by fall
220 Merr. dec.
285 MD dec.
106 MD dec. (Seng beats Garza 7-6)
113 MD by fall
120 Merr. dec. (Garcia beats Goebel 12-7)
126 MD dec. (10-4)
132 Merr. by fall
That is the best I can do.

There is a new beautiful Ford Center in Evansville. Would be a great venue and I'm sure everyone would love to travel to Evansville. New bars downtown and the casino close by. What else could you want

Apparently the Indianamat.com forum is like a drug addiction to some people ,no matter how hard you try , you just cant stay away .
And it makes you act like an idiot!

Jeff should take second

The first three are state placers and upperclassman and the fourth is a senior states qualifier. I know Bailey is good but that is a tall hill. If you had seen any of them you might it be surprised

How reliable is this weight information? Where does it come from?

Any idea when the first edition of the rankings will be out? Looks like everyone else has theirs out already.

At Capital City Dyrek 220Chowning vs Naughton,Hwt. Carter vs Wienfield, Shepard vs Lecount
Will Shepard and Lecount be in the same weight class? I thought Shepard was going 120 and Lecount 126.
-
Maybe just start with the top 4 in each class and then add from there as you get more information. That would spur some discussion and may get you the information you are looking for.

Did you feel this same way 2 years ago?
I'm sure a lot of people did. That is what makes sports great. It will be a big showdown again. We will have some time to see who progresses and who doesn't before it happens.

So, with the St. Louis Cardinals winning the World Series tonight I was wondering who is the biggest longshot to ever win a Indiana State Wrestling Title? Both individually and as a team.
