Drooke
This was posted by jason bryant on awn/tom... Understand it was passed at the State Leaders Summit last week in Colorado Springs. So gone are now the days of intricate and unpredictable vertical pairing. I liked it for many reasons, but from a promotion and marketing perspective, it's a nightmare. First-round losers now face other first-round losers. Marketable rounds and probably a shorter tournament. Round of 32, 16 and Quarters will be awesome. I'll miss the great stories of a first-round loser coming back to win the tournament ... but brackets are coming

Fabio Jr.
Another step foreward Vertical pairings were always overly complicated. Not rocket science but def more work to figure out than a bracket should be. And about the 19th time I have had to explain to a dad what was going on it was clear this would be a better alternative.
