jlittlejohn
Franklin Community Perry Meridian Evansville Mater Dei Yorktown Belmont Center Grove New Palestine (Doe Creek) Mishawaka (John Young) How’s this for a Middle School line up? Historically this event has been held in Bloomington, beginning in the mid -90’s, however; due to facility and administrative issues concerning the Bloomington middle schools the event was on the verge of being cancelled this year, but, Franklin Community stepped up to host. The Bloomington middle schools chose not to participate, again, due to administrative issues and concerns. Evansville Reitz withdrew late last week amid the uncertainty of the event. So, the once 10-team dual was reduced to seven, until Mishawaka excitedly accepted an invitation for an early season test. Wrestling will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Franklin Community Middle School. jlittlejohn
looks like a great event - thank you Mr. Littlejohn for putting this together and making sure it continued. The thanks should go to the core group of teams involved here that insisted that the event be continued regardless of venue and/or number of teams involved. Just a little FYI, 7 of the 8 schools participating this Saturday feed into programs that are currently ranked in the IndianaMat.com Team Top 20 based on dual meet results. Events like this give those up and coming wrestlers within those programs valuable experience in a big time dual meet environment such as they will be a part of as members of these tradition rich high school programs. Best wishes to every team and wrestler; high school, middle school, elementary or otherwise competing this weekend and the remainder of their respective season. 1. Perry Meridian 2. indyt
Congrats to all the teams at this tournament. I was really impressed with the quality of wrestling. Yorktown's lighter weights were very technically sound and tough as nails. Coach McCormack and crew do a great job of preparing their kids for battle. Coach Richardson, Alexander, Payton and Steward from PM have really put together a great line up this year and are really setting up the future Falcons squad for success at the high school level. Great job PM coaches and wrestlers, keep it rolling. Coach Tonte
