tflo84
Why the name change?
GrecoCoach
Why the name change? Conseco's 15-year naming rights contract expired. I don't remember how many million they paid for the right, but Lucas Oil paid $252 million for their 15-year contract. I'm guessing that Banker's Life didn't pay that much. AC Computer
Conseco was also bought out by Bankers Life, so the company doesn't exist under that name anymore.
GrecoCoach
After digging a little deeper, AC is correct. Conseco actually signed a 20-year contract for the naming rights, and there are still 6 or 7 years left. Since Bankers Life's holding company in Carmel took over Conseco, they chose to rename the fieldhouse to give Bankers Life more recognition nationally.
