Mattyb Posted October 24, 2011 Share Posted October 24, 2011 The Avon Wrestling Club will be holding sign ups on November 2nd and 3rd from 6:00pm to 7:30pm @ the Avon High School Cafeteria. The cost will be $100.00 for the season for elementary and $75 for middle school, (discounts for additional family members). Fees include a USA Wrestling Card, a practice pack (shorts and T-shirt), and practices from Nov. to May! We will be participating in Elementary duals, Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco. If you have a valid USA Wrestling Card, fees will be reduced by $30.00. Youth practices will begin on November 7th. The Black Group (beginners) will practice twice a week (Mondays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 7 pm). The Gold Group (Advanced) will practice twice a week (Mondays from 7:15 to 8:30 and Fridays from 6:00 to 7:30). In addition we will be offering a Live night to advanced wrestlers within our area, on Wednesday from 7:15 to 8:30. Middle school is TBA. Practices will be held in the wrestling room at Avon High School, and will be overseen by former Purdue Wrestler and Avon Head Wrestling Coach Israel Blevins and his staff. Additional instruction will be provided by former Indiana University Wrestler and coach Jon McClain (Yes, Purdue and IU)! An experienced group of youth coaches will be present as well. Dual meets will begin in November! We look to take two or more teams to duals this season. The cost of most duals will be covered by the club. Washington Township (Hendricks County) wrestlers are strongly encouraged to sign up. As in the past, others are welcome.
