julio Posted November 29, 2010 Share Posted November 29, 2010 I was bored this past weekend and reread the Echoes of the Elder. Looking thru the book it occured to me that from 1922-1932 and from 1944-1949 the IHSAA did not sponsor the state wrestling tournament, if this is true then the IHSAA has only had 4 4X state champions with the 1st one being Lance Ellis and then Alex Tsirtsis, Blake Mauer, and Angel Escobedo. Assuming I read the post right, there was a state tournament those years it was just not sponsored by the IHSAA. Were there 4x state champs during those Non-IHSAA sponsored years? ......AND Who was the sponsor/governing body during those Non-IHSAA years?
