Infolady Posted April 16, 2010 Share Posted April 16, 2010 ZEKE JONES IS COMING TO ISWA FREESTYLE STATE FINALS APRIL 30TH & MAY 1ST Don't miss this opportunity to meet and greet USA Wrestling?s National Freestyle Coach Zeke Jones, one of the best lightweight wrestlers in U.S. history and USA?s National Freestyle Coach will be on site at the 2010 ISWA Freestyle State Finals to meet and greet the wrestlers, sign autographs, etc. A schedule of times and activities will be posted on the ISWA web site and emailed to all ISWA member clubs as soon as details are finalized. Jones, a past World champion, Olympic silver medalist, World bronze medalist and Olympic Team coach, is responsible for the U.S. men's freestyle program and is the national coach for Freestyle Team USA. Jones came to USA Wrestling after spending the past three seasons as the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania. Jones coached Penn?s Matt Valenti to back-to-back NCAA titles in 2006 and 2007. Jones was an Olympic Freestyle Coach for the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team, which competed in Athens, Greece. The U.S. won three medals in Athens, a gold by Cael Sanderson and silvers by Stephen Abas and Jamill Kelly. Jones, a four-time World Cup champion, is a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Jones was voted ?Worlds Most Technical Wrestler? by FILA. Jones wrestled on the 1988 NCAA Championship team at Arizona State, where he was a NCAA finalist and was a three-time All-American for the Sun Devils. He was top-ranked freestyle wrestler in the USA while still competing in college and was the No. 1 ranked wrestler for seven straight years. Jones is originally from Ann Arbor, Mich., where he was a state high school champion, a three-time Junior National All-American and a Dream Team selection by Wrestling USA.
