July 17, 2009 EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State wrestling coach Tom Minkel announced MSU's 2009 recruiting class today as the Spartans will add six wrestlers this fall. The class features five standout student-athletes from the state of Michigan and one of the most successful wrestlers in Indiana high school history. "This group of young men will undoubtedly make an impact here at MSU both on the mat and in the classroom," said Coach Minkel. "It's a terrific class." Here is a look at each recruit: Dan Osterman, St. Johns, Mich./St. Johns Osterman is a four-time finalist and three-time Michigan high school state champion. Brenan Lyon, Ithaca, Mich./Ithaca After finishing runner-up in the state championships as a junior, Lyon won the Michigan high school state championship as a senior and posted a perfect 57-0 record.
