INDIANAPOLIS -- When Devon Jackson walked off the wrestling mat Saturday night, it was hard to tell whether he had just won his first or final match of the season.

 

After seeing undefeated seasons crumble in front of him in IHSAA state championship matches the past two years, Jackson finally captured the feeling he had been seeking.

 

And he kept it within himself.

 

Jackson, the No. 1-ranked wrestler in the state at 138 pounds, defeated Josh Farrell of Greenfield-Central 12-2 in Bankers Life Fieldhouse to win his first state championship and cap his career with a 197-7 record.
